OK- I GOT THE CALL THIS MORNING - IT'S OFFICIAL...
:cheer: STITCH IS THE WINNER OF THE "BEST DRESSED" CATEGORY!!! :cheer:
Stitch would like to thank you all for your help in achieving this honour, :Applause:
and she is VERY PROUD to represent "BEST DRESSED" in the final round of the competition... :clap:
:shify: and to represent ALL CATS...
she is up against ALL dogs (and 1 bird, I think) :shify:
she knows it'll be a tuff fight... but she's ready!! :boxer:

This is to clarify and congratulate Stitch for being the category winner for the Best Dressed category for round 1 of www.petidol.ca (http://www.petidol.ca) contest.
Stitch has won this contest by accumulating the most votes from a post date of May 28th, 2007 to June 26th, 2007.
On July 3rd, 2007 at 10:00 am the grand prize voting will commence, at which time Stitch will be posted on the Petidol.ca website and open for public voting.
As per the rules and regulations, www.petidol.ca owns the rights to the picture which you submitted and we may use it how we see fit for this conest only. This will include the posting on the website during the voting period, as well as potentially an ad in Dogs In Canada Magazine in October 2007.
As of July 19th, 2007 the voting for the grand prize will close down and the winner will be contacted. Upon that time as well, the category prize package, valued at $250.00 will be announced and awarded to you as well.

Anyway... there is one of the dogs - his name is Jasmine - that is already up to 123 votes!!
I don't know how they did it - but I would venture a guess that they are cheating somehow. >:(

they were to find out that any of the others are cheating...

I voted for Stitch initially but never got the confirmation email. Ever.
Then today again and still nothing, not even in junk folder. I use hotmail, does anyone with this problem also use hotmail? Do they block these emails from voting maybe?
Have tried again and it tells me I've already voted so they know I have they just don;t let me confirm it!

Hotmail should work fine.
If it says you can't vote again for another 24 hours -
then your vote went in.
When you click on the link to verify - it just comes up with the same page.
and... if it says you already voted, or something like that, then your vote probably went through.
You could try entering it again and if it says the 24 hour thing...
then you know it went in.
you really should be getting the confirmation email though - I don't know why you wouldn't?

I don't think it does DP as I tried with my work email and it counted the vote and i got the verify email. It seems its set up to verify email addresses so that people don't use bogus email addresses. I voted from my own pc twice but once with my work email and it counted my work email vote, so its not verifying IP addresses.
Its suspect because I have never once received an email from the competition to verify on my hotmail account. I don't like banding my work email address out so only did it twice with that one.

K, that's odd because I have a couple of Hotmail addy's that I use
and they work ok.

Check you junk folder again ... I voted with hotmail and it went into junk ... I clicked on the "not junk" button so it goes into my in box now.

Yes. It either does not like my email address but its the only site I have ever had problems receiving email from. I get normal email all the time. Even unwanted junk.

well, Stitch is up to 114 - that's pretty good!
but - there are a couple of the dogs that are up in the 200's...

BUT... we still have to vote! If there is any chance at all that they get thrown out for any reason,

Angie - Same is happening with one of my hotmail addresses.. Maybe we have the junk mail preferences set to high so they automatically block some mail from getting though??

I apologize for not showing up at all last night - I was literally up ALL night trying to help a cat
that I thought was a stray. Not so sure now though. I waited till morning to call my friend that runs the cat rescue -
she is originally from England ;D and she told me what to do... anyway... I was so worried about this cat - she is a sweetie,
that I couldn't sleep. I think everything is ok now though - I hope so.

there's only today and tomorrow left to vote, and we won't be able to win the title,
which is OK - she still has her 'Best Dressed' title which she is very proud of :Luv:
but if it's possible - I'd just like to try to get her number up to 2000...

Was looking at all those dumb dogs last night, they not even good looking like Stitch and how could more than one of them have over 6000 votes grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
The nicest dog, the big fluffy one only has a few votes and so sad.

Just to let everyone know I have heard from Donna and she is doing OK.
Dear little Stitch came 4th in Pet Idol and won some "intersting" prizes: she received her 'prize package' a few days ago...
She won,
1) a 1 year subscription to 'Dogs in Canada' magazine (Just what every cat wants :rofl: )
2) a $50.00 gift certificate to Rens Depot Online (pet supplies)
3) free bag of food coupon from Royal Canin
4) a cheque from Pet Idol valued at $100.00 (which she wants to spend ALL on cat treats) :) actually - she wants to donate her cheque to the Cat Rescue lady here, to help out with all the kittens she has that need to be fixed :Luv:
