Title: cat not urinating
Post by: zevxev on January 15, 2013, 18:17:10 PM
Hi all. My female cat is around 7 yrs old. We've noticed recently she's going out less. She can be in other night and not want to go out till the next evening. My worry is she doesn't appear to be urinating, She's still playful and eating ok. She doesn't appear to be in any discomfort. She is sick occasionally.but think that is mainly because our other cat annoys.her. Any ideas guys .
Thanks

Do you have indoor litter trays cos these are needed to monitor her.

If you dont and she is not going out she could be heading towards trouble

Hi. Yeah we have litter trays but neither cats use them. She's never been a big eater and never drinks indoors . It just seems a long time not to urinate . As a rule she'll come in at night.then most days she won't go out again till late afternoon the.next day. She's playful enough and happy , not in any discomfort . Not sure what to make of it..thanks for replying .

For about 24 hrs she should be Ok, Misa my big boy wouldnt go out last night although he was busting and used a tray in the end, actually two!

If it goes longer than that, keep a very good eye on her and by 48hrs plus a vet visit likely to be needed urgently. She should be by then squatting and trying to go and she will need help.

Hope she decides that litter trays are the option
