Title: Catnip Plants
Post by: JackSpratt on February 25, 2007, 14:45:20 PM
Could anyone tell me if I need to prune the dead parts of the plant from last year off? I can see fresh growth at the base and wondered if the dead part would be hindering it at all.

Mine is the same. shootong out all over the place and Misa is trying to kill it at the moment

I would proon back the dead bits as long as they are dead, they will not hinder the growth but they can get sharp if the stems are thick, and I get worried about the eyes of the cats. If they are not dead they will shoot.  ;D

Thanks Gill, I'll just prune off the dangerous looking bits then! ;D
