Maybe she should get in touch with Chapelhouse, they may be able to offer some guidance - the write up doesn't do them much justice really.
Please spay your cat

Oh well, its academic now anyway - I made enquiries yesterday, and was contacted this morning, the lady I spoke to wasnt the manager, and she had to check with her. I've just heard from her again, and the manager has said they couldnt rehome a kitten with me due to the number of cats I already have - RSPCA policy (5 other cats would be probably be ok - but 11 wouldnt!) - sort of expected it really. Funny though, Cat Protection were happy to rehome an elderly Persian with me a couple of months ago, sadly she died before I could take her on.

Apparently, 3 have been reserved and there are 3 left.

Gillian, accepted it may be too soon for you after Suzie....

However, there are 6 of these babies left and there has been no interest in a month - I nearly had one slipped into my pocket on the way out..  :-: Gillian, maybe you, or anyone else knows folks involved in persian rescue? These kittens are in the wrong place and the nurse there knows it. I mentioned that I've come across persian fans and she said, tongue in cheek, "Please tell them to come and take these!"

Fingers crossed for these poor mites.  :(

I agree with that sentiment. On the other side of the coin, if you did feel Suzie sent you one of these kittens then people would be happy that they were going to a knowledgeable home. :)

Whatever you decide, you'll do what's right. :)

Well, Gillian maybe that one was sent just for you. :) But only if you feel ready! (For a mad, cheeky rascal of a kitten!)

Sorry they can't be separated  ;)
DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

With your pedigree (forgive the pun  :evillaugh: ) they will welcome you with open arms. As blackcat says, the novelty will wear off. a 6 year old will want them like they are a set of dolls and tire of putting ribbons on them in no time.

sorry gillian, sounds like ythou dost protest too much to me!! And they really are very cute if you think about it. You could be saving them from a horrible fate at the hands of someone who stops grooming them three weeks after the novelty wears off ................ :evillaugh:

The thought crossed my mind this morning.

Manston isn't far from me Gillian - I could drop them over  ;)

Stop it Mark  :evillaugh:

I couldnt really, I mean I never planned to add any more, and its not like I coould ever replace Suzie, and its not like I havent got plenty here to keep me occupied already, and well, kittens, theres all the jabs and neutering, and its not like I'm gonna be paying off my vet bill for Suzie over the past few months any time soon, and anyway - they probably wouldnt let me have a kitten or two anyway, once they knew how many I'd already got - and all those other reasons that I can't think of at the moment as to why I shouldnt LOL!  ;D

Pure Persian Kittens

Hi, folks!  :wow:

I am putting a plug in for some wee kittens I saw yesterday. These kits are pure persian, obviously no paperwork, and are mostly creamy grey or difused tabby coloured. They are presently residing in the RSPCAs East Kent Animal Centre.

As we know, persians require specialised homes and are not to everyone's taste. I feel these babies will either sit there and sit there, or will end up in homes not experienced in persian care.

It must be rare for pure persian kittens to end up in rescue care, so perhaps someone out there might be interested..? The nurse gave me the impression she'd like to get them off her books, so maybe they'll accept a rehoming out of the area if a home check can be arranged and the adopter was a persian expert.
