Have noticed something in Bunty our elderly lady.

In her mouth on the oral mucoa you get between the lips and gums where its black Bunty has always had this with little rdiges going up but over the last day or so it seems to be coming outwards.    I noticed it because it looked like she had a peice of food hanging out her mouth but it wasn't and its this black mucosa she has in her mouth.   Wondering if its because of her age or something similar?   Anyone any ideas.
