There is nothing anyone can say that will take that pain away but if thoughts are roses, a huge bouquet will be in your heart from all of us in Noah's memory.

Wishing you peace and comfort...

My darling boy has been gone a whole week, and I miss him terribly - his paw on my knee when he wanted a cuddle, him sleeping by my head each night.  :'(

 :(

I know it feels impossible to believe but it does get easier, I promise

Dear FF, I am so terribly sorry that you lost Noah so suddenly. Like everyone else who followed his story, and your wonderful relationship with him, I was amazed at how such a forlorn looking creature could blossom when given real love.
Do not for one second berate your self at the manner of his death....he had a perfect life with you and you gave him a peaceful and quiet end.
RIP Noah.

There will never be another Noah, he was just so loving despite everything he has been through.

You're right, there won't. They'll be a new feline that comes into your life and needs your love. And although a Noah shaped hole will always be present in your heart, there's enough love there for a new little personality to mean an awful lot to you.

Jack's right, even tho my old mate Orbit is no longer here,I have Daisy.I love her just the same but I often think of Orbit, remembering the good times we had,did you know he could drive?...

It's memories like these that you cherish always..the good times. We pulled into a car park & I let him out of the carrier for a while.I drove the rest of the way home with him asleep on my lap.
(The photo was taken on the way back from the vet's when he was diagnosed with his kidney problems)

From looking at the link, I've just realised who Noah was  :'( :'( :'(  Gosh was that really 2 years ago?

I simply didn't recognise that healthy, beautiful white cat as the poor bundle you rehomed FF.  You gave him his life back.  No one could possibly have done more for that boy.  You were both so very lucky to have had that time together

Thanks Jen. It's so sad that, after everything Adel CP/vets/ fosterers did, we couldn't erase what had been done to Noah beforehand. :'(

I borrowed a few photos and videos from your posts on Purrs and YouTube for this album which is set to public. :shy: I did add a couple of Noah when first rescued because it's part of his story ... just not the super distressing ones. I credited Adel CP in the notes: if you have any others that would be lovely. http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd485/Firefox7275/Noah/

I have some more to sort through and upload but I've hit my broadband limit. I don't have any recent ones as I am completely rubbish at taking photos and I never dreamed I would lose him so suddenly.  :'(
:'( My beautiful Noah rescued 13/02/09, adopted 11/10/09, taken 11/02/11 :'( You deserved so much more.

Just let Daphne know and she'll pass onto Liz and Georgina.

Daphne remembers when she went to pick him up... she remembers thinking that he wasn't going to make it and sends a huge THANK YOU for taking him in when his past had been living in a coal hole. These past 2 years must have been the happiest of his short life and he was so rewarded with your love and care  :Luv2:

Aww sweetpea - he will have known you were there in the end  :(

Sometimes life can be so cruel but he I bet he'll be stirring it up on the bridge and chasing all the other cats wanting to play!

I will let them know and if and when you want to get in touch to discuss him or another cat then i'll leave it to you - their number is on the new website (I popped a link in the other thread you started).

Did you want any pictures i've got for Noah? Although having said that, most are when he was found and therefore now when he was at his best!

So many hugs xxxxxxxxxx

Oh my goodness.... i've just read this as i've not been on in a while... i'm so sorry  :(

Words can't ever help to make you feel better, but I just want to say that Noah was such a survivor, he was so strong, funny, loud (!), cheeky and probably the most powerful rescue I was even involved in.

Would you like me to tell Daphne, Liz and Georgina? I know that they would want to know, but of course i'll respect if you don't.

Of course it's way too soon to think about another cat, but just to say Adel CP is no more, but Liz and Daphne run one if you needed to speak to them xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I've been thinking that I should let them know, I don't think I can without crying.  :'( If they would like to check anything Noah was registered with Shearbridge in Bradford - I think I would want to in their shoes. The vet seemed shocked, he suspected Noah had chronic pancreatitis (?this is not serious in cats?) until the x-ray and ultrasound. I went back to the surgery before they PTS but he didn't know I was there. :'(  There will never be another Noah, he was just so loving despite everything he has been through.

No Jen, he didn't deserve it BUT he did deserve all the love and happiness that you gave him while he was with you.

I know what you mean about missing him in bed - when my Smudge was missing and then finding him dead I hated him not being on the pillow next to me and I took my 3ft panda to bed with me and I would often wake up crying during the night stroking it.  :'(

It's very hard but soon you will be enjoying talking about the good times.

If you read the words of this poem, you'll realise you didn't give up on him too easily - instead you gave him the greatest gift

The Greatest Gift

I always knew this time would come,
From the very instant our eyes first met.
How I loved you then! How I love you now!
I made a promise then, and I will keep that promise now...
You will not suffer from a pain that will not heal;
You will not know the loss of a life remembered, now gone.

It is for me alone to make this decision,
The price for the bright joy and pure laughter
You brought me during the time we shared.
I am the only one who can decide when it is time.
When my hope dies, and my fear rides high,
Just when I need you most, I must let you go.

It is for you alone to tell me when you are ready
For without your guidance, I will not know
When to lay my grief, my guilt, my anger
My sorrow and my selfish heart aside
And give you this last gift, this greatest gift.
Your eyes will speak to mine, and I will know.

The pain of this moment is excruciating.
Tears stream down my face in a river of sorrow.
And my heart drowns in a pool of grief.
For you have spoken and I have listened,
And unlike other decisions I have made
This one brings no relief...no comfort...no peace.

For if there´s one thing you´ve taught me,
If there´s only one thing I´ve learned...
Unconditional love has a condition after all,
I must be willing to let you go, when you speak to me
I must be willing to help you go, if you cannot go alone.
And I must accept my pain so you can be free of yours.

Go easily now, go quickly now,
Do not linger here, it is time for you to leave.
Go find your strength, go find your youth.
Go find the ones who've gone before you.
You are free to leave me now, free to let your spirit soar
Rest easy now, your pain will soon be gone.

I pray I will find comfort in my memories...
In the dark and lonely days ahead.
I cannot say I will not miss you, I cannot say I will not cry.
For only my tears can heal my broken heart.
But, I promise you this; as long as I live,
You will live, alive in my mind, forever in my heart.

So I give you this last gift, all I have left to give,
And this will be my greatest gift...sending you away.
It is the measure of my unconditional love...
For only the greatest love can say,
"Good-bye, go find the bridge, we'll meet again,
Loving you has been the greatest gift of all."

Forever and Always... Until Rainbow bridge....

Firefox believe me you did do the right thing for him as it is so hard to see them deteriorate in front of your eyes and you gave him the greatest gift of love you could and that was to ease his suffering.  You will be feeling as though you betrayed his trust but you never and he will definately be waiting for you on RB and will run upto you with so much love for freeing him from the pain he would of been feeling when he became unwell.

YOU DID RGHT BY HIM, you put your feelings to the back and did what was right for him.

Firefox I know how you feel and had a vet reassure me when I lost a cat to cancer within a week of becoming ill, it was nothing I had or had not done, used or not used and as he had only had his yearly check up a couple of weeks before becoming ill and he seemed fine then it could have been an aggressive cancer.

Yes I phoned up the vets asking if I should of done things differently or had it been something I had used or not used so it is a part of the grieving process.  I am so sorry at your loss of Noah and with what he had.

The guilt you're feeling is quite natural and part of the greiving process, and it will pass. I don't know why it happens but no matter how hard we've tried, we end up blaming ourselves for having done something or not having done something, or not doing something soon enough... don't beat yourself up about it FF. You're very fragile at the moment, so be nice to yourself.

FF, one thing you never did with Noah was let him down. Please don't think that....it's not true. Noah knew he was utterly adored. A lot of people get that feeling (myself included) when they lose a feline family member because they feel so powerless about it all. :care:

Thank you everyone, I know you understand how I feel.  :'(  I missed my baby sleeping by my head last night and waking me with a purr, I want him to come home. :'( I let Noah down, he should not have spent his last hours scared and in pain.

You didn't let Noah Chop's down!!I felt exactly the same when Orbit passed away,I felt so helpless & guilty that I couldn't do anything for him.no doubt you feel the same way,but you did all you could for him, gave him all the love & attention he deserved & he in turn returned the favor in buckets.
I sincerly hope you give another purr babe a chance at the same love & attention that you gave Noah.

Kind regards, you & Noah are in my thoughts & prayers.

Thank you everyone, I know you understand how I feel.  :'(  I missed my baby sleeping by my head last night and waking me with a purr, I want him to come home. :'( I let Noah down, he should not have spent his last hours scared and in pain.
:'( My beautiful Noah rescued 13/02/09, adopted 11/10/09, taken 11/02/11 :'( You deserved so much more.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss.
He was clearly so much loved. You saved him from further suffering and had they strength to let him fly free.
Play well at the bridge Noah xx
