I like Wilkinson it is the new Woolworths or rather to say it is what Woolworths used to be before it became a glorious toy and sweet shop :). Thnak heavens we have affordable shops like Wilkinsons, Primark and TK Max about time we got some decently made goods at less than rip-off prices :).

Cheers

I went to Wilkinsons yesterday but couldn't find them in there. I will check woolworths as they have a JML section - there is a small branch in my road so will look tomorrow  ;D

I use yesterdays news litter  - paper based pellets. You get the odd pellet they throw out of the tray but tracking in minimal.  you can just pick the pellet up and throw it back in the tray.

I did use a wood based one, only for a short time, I bought it from the vets, but after they peed all I could smell was wood shavings.  :) - I think I have found the best one and have been using it for about 2 years now, don't think I'll ever change.

Cheers for that - I was only watching an advert for them on Tues with a friend and saying 'I hate JML products, they are never as good as they say!!' - but if these work, I shall look out for them.

The ones that I bought are called Magic Carpet made by JML the come in two sizes and 2 or three coloursthe regulpar size is 40x70 cm. I only use wood-based cat litter and, as some of you will know, it turns to sawdust when it gets wet and dries again. I hope they work for other folks, if all else fails it'd make a good doormat :).

I bought some turtle mats that claim to do that. Thery are good if you wipe your feet but just walking across one isn't enough. I am going to canterbury this PM so will investigate. Thanks Leigh  ;D

I think il try one as it looks different to the ones i normally see that dont work very well.
Taz has hairy toes and loves the ultra fine clay litter and spreads its everywhere!
Sarah il let you know if it works.

Sounds handy Leigh.

I'm trying clay clumping litter at the moment, so I doubt it would work for that???

I wouldn't worry too much about that as long as they do, it  seems ideal

Hi Ela,

I'm interested in how they work, it's not as if he wipes his feet but just walking across it takes off about 90% of the sawdust and it is only about 14 inches wide although you can buy a bigger one, I got the smaller ones as they sit right next to the litter trays and, as the trays are against walls in corners then there's really only one way out, across the mat.

Oh, BTW, the small ones cost a tenner and the larger ones are 14 or 15 quid, a lot for a mat but if it works, well worth it and you can machine wash them when neccessary although they brush clean very easily and they are also absorbant in case of accidents.

Best regards

Leigh

Hi fiolks,

The other day I bought one of those "Magic Mats" from Wilkinsons that they've been advertising on the tele. I'm a sceptic about productss that claim so much but thought it worth a try as Frankie treads sawdust footprints from the wood based cat litter tray in the bedroom throughout the flat and this is the most used litter tray in the flat as all of them like using it from time to time. I've got to admit that uit works very well, I placed it next to one of the litter trays and it gets most of the sawdust off of his paws before he crossed the blue rug, he will insist on digging for England for 5 minutes every time and often leaves the tray looking like he's wearing sock. I bought another one for the litter tray in the living room, I don't know how they work unless it is a man-made fabric that attracts things by some static charge and, frankly, I don't care :). I thought I'd post as it might help others in a similar position.

Cheers

Leigh
