Emails received:
"This girl is approx 3, staff cross, very people friendly but un dog tested. Dumped at vets and is an obvious breeder.
She has a vaginal growth and the vets are willing to remove a spay if she can be placed. HOWEVER the Vets WILL euthanase if place cannot be secured. They want an answer asap or she will die
Can anyone find a place for this girl??"
"The dog is 1yr to 18 months, he's a black & white staffy, male (E), very good with people and quite affectionate, not bothered by other dogs but if another dog starts he will go back at him and he's big.
I dont know if there is anywhere left for these dogs but please help if anyone can
Sorry no picture and I have not met as I cannot bear to see another one I probably can't save.
The dog is in a pound. Due to die Thursday (they will hold for a few extra days if can be placed)."
I have contact details for these two, please get in touch if you know of a rescue that might have a place or a permanent home.
-
omg how terrible, I hope somebody can help her
-
Sadly, Dawn - got the other email straight after. The lad has got until tomorrow unless a rescue steps in, or a permanent home is found. :( People sicken me sometimes - they breed these dogs to make a fast buck and don't care about what happens to them when the novelty wears off.
-
This situation is so sad and people should be fined for breeding it's about time it came to an end. I've never seen any petitions against this either.
I too hope this dog can be saved :(
-
Against breeding staffies unless you're registered? I'll email Niall, if there is one, he'll know.
-
but surely they are registered with the kennel club, nobody cares as far as I can see
-
D'you know I have no idea. I asked if Niall wanted me to cross post a dog months ago and now regularly get very distressing emails regarding this breed of dog. I actually quite like staffies as a breed, and find it frustrating that certain "types" use them for kudos.
-
Whereabouts in the world are these dogs?
-
I've emailed Niall to ask him.
"There is no governing body and no petitions as far as i am aware. The fact is is that the government do not care.
I have just joint a comitee for Coalition of responsible dog ownership, which is looking at Parliamentary involvement and we are looking at some rather drastic lobbying ideas.
It is legislation that needs to be changed and the government that need to support.
Will keep you posted as things progress"
This is the response I got when I asked about controlling the situation, JaneyK.

Thanks, it would be good if we could do something x
-
Indeed. It must be soul destroying for Niall who actually meets a lot of these dogs as far as I can tell.
-
Is the deadline tomorrow?
-
Sadly so.
-
It's heartbreaking, must be very hard for Niall
-
where abouts are they jack?
Do you know of any dog rescues in the area?
-
Kent (close to SE London). Sadly, I think Niall's the last chance saloon. He says if ANYONE can help he's prepared to so some driving.
-
Have you tried BABWORTH RESCUE at babworth near retford, i know its a long way out but they may just be able to help, Also Kirkby dog rescue, they have a network of foster homes for placements like this
-
I think it might be too late, Bonnielass. :(
-
Damn , this is the first day ive been on since monday as ive got that blasted flu bug thats going round  if only i,de known earlier :(
-
I'll email Niall and ask but today was the day they'd scheduled letting the male go definitely.
-
Just found this update:
"The two Staffies are in temporary boarding but still in need of urgent rescue placements." So still looking if anyone can think of anything.
-
I am so glad that they have at least had a stay of execution for the moment.
Good luck with them - I dont think it is worth me offering because they are totally at the wrong end of the country
:thanks: for the update and I hope that homes can be found for these two soon.
-
so am I, hope they find homes
