Title: OMG its only June but here is very important news about the Purrs Auction 2013

First the announcement of the place that the money is going to.............FERAL AND STRAY FOUNDATION run by Marleymoo aka Liz ;D ;D ;D ;D

We think that the money will help so much and that the job Liz is doing is amazing ;D

This of course applies to all rescues and wish we could have many other big fund raising thing for all of you in a year, we already have planned who will get the money in 2014!

Next and Susanne and/or Tan will be posting more on this.................the changes in postal rates in Aug have threatened to kill off our precious auction, so a change to how the P&P will work has been made.

This year only the auctioneers will pay the P&P so we hope that this will bring in more and bigger bids from those of you playing in our auction :innocent:

So the last bit of this message from me is , please save some stunning things for the auction, small and flatish will be cheaper to send so beare in mind the new horrific postal rates,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Susanne will tell you all about this.

Agreed the postage situation needed to be looked at, and this seems a sensible proposition, the "sellers" know they need to bear this cost in mind when choosing their items.

maybe sellers should consider other postal companies? we have switched to a courier for our ebay items. there are some courier companies that work out much cheaper than the PO. probably worth looking at nearer the time?

I knew those weightwatchers kitchen scales would come in for something. :-[ ;)

However there's an exception to this in that if an item is less than 6" / 16cm cubed then it can go as a small parcel which £2.60 second and £3.00 first. Clever packing needed I think!

Their prices have gone up to along with all other carriers. postage is sfer it to everynow a total rip off.

We did charge the postage to the winners as it was included with what they bid but we couldnt use that money to actuallly send the items.

Think about it............every winner pays Purrs postage, Purrs then has to transfer all postage to every auctioneer....................just wasnt possible.

So now its hoped that larger bids will come in to make up for the huge chunk of postage that we used to add on at the end as we never gave that figure out until auction had finished and it could add as much as £500 to the auction.

As for the prices going up to all the others.... They're still cheaper. They haven't gone up to the RM's prices at all.

To turn on Signatures click on:

profile ... account settings .... look and layout .... untick the "don't show users signatures"

(If you promise not to tell anyone else ... the Auction will be 17 Nov to 1 Dec) :naughty:

I do hope these aren't similar to mugs I was shown at the weekend. Strategic use of the handle looked like a C then the "rest" of a word was written on the mug. :Crazy:

I wonder if a separate thread announcing it might be a good idea. I've been reviewing my potentially auctionable items this week and now the buyer no longer pays postage I came to the conclusion that more money would be raised if I just donated what it would have cost me to post the smaller value ones without actually bothering to put them up for grabs. This news changes things. ;D
It also means I can make use of the boxes I've been collecting. :shify:
