Woo Hoo what great news ... so pleased Mango is back home and is feeling OK (if a little sore).

Fingers crossed she will continue to improve. xxxxx

Great news Sasha - the worst is over. If she is breathing OK before the swelling goes down, I'm sure it will be even better for her over the next few days  :Luv:

Well done for going the extra mile for her

Excellent news Cosmic - it will be such a relief for you all. Fingers crossed that licking with that rough old cat tongue will hurt and that will discourage her!!

:wow: shes got a nose  :wow:

she has had it done  ;D and shes fine , she is already home and they have created 2 little nostrils , there not very big but the vet has taken away all of her nose pad except the bit in the middle . Apart from having tiny nostrils she has hardly  any nose pad so it was quite a tricky op but the vet seemed quite pleased and she still has a lot of swelling yet
She has stiches and when she breaths blood is bubbling a little and she has had some little nose bleeds but the vet said that was to be expected

i was very scared going to pick her up i thought she might look a right mess but its not too bad and quite a relief to see some little holes there now
i hope the swelling goes down soon she is on pain killers and anti inflamms and has to go back thur , the only trouble is that she can lick her nose being a persian and that concerns the vet a little so i have to watch her like a hawk but really cant stop her doing this

shes breathing very well  hardly making any noise and eating and happy to be home
i dont want to get my hopes up too soon yet cause the vet ses we cant tell how successfull it has been untill swelling goes down but i cant help feeling very positive for her future now and happy i made the decision and pushed for this doing
please pray its worked

give the girl a go, Mark, she is probably still driving endless miles, and that is assuming Mango comes out of the anaesthetic quickly and does not have to stay overnight ... We are all rooting for you cosmic and mango

Don't worry Sasha, its quite minor surgery - nothing critical. She will be fine

You are doing the best thing - especially for Mango - she will have a new lease of life and be able to have a proper cat-life, running round and driving you mad in no time.

Good luck for tomorrow - not that you need it

We all worry when any of our cats go in for a surgery, and I'm sure Mango will be in good hands and you'll be spoiling Mango like crazy very soon.

ohhhhh im scared , what if it goes wrong  :-[

i know it sounds rather dramatic but my grandad died last yr and anna my 5 yr old crys constantly about it at least every other day , although i am a big believer in the spirit world and have explained to her that grandad is now well in spirit world and sees her growing ( shes very happy and calms down  with this explanation )
well anyway we have 3 cats moomin , mango and little luna but although mango is very special to me and anna MANGO is very close to anna , she sleeps on her bed and anna feeds her and because she doesnt play because of her breathing probs anna spends a lot of time laying on the floor in front of her playing pitter patter games on the floor with her so mango can play paw tapping but not start chocking and if she does anna relises when shes getting out of breth and makes her stop and cuddles her for a while
so if anything was to happen to mango she would just cry all the time i know it

i really do too , i would love to beable to play with her . At the moment i have to put her in anouther room when i play with luna cause she loves to join in but then has a hissy fit with her breathing
im not too sure what to expect about the results from her op , i got the report from the specialst today that they sent to my vet
it said that from all the test they have done they think that she would benefit greatly from the op but there is also some query about how long her soft palet is but it was hard to tell cause she was intubated !!!!! and if the op doesnt work then they will have to have a closer look at this
but they did say they have fingers crossed that it will be successful for her quality of life

Mine wasn't cosmetic. It was because I couldn't breathe on one side. They had to remove some of the sinus and some of the bone inside and straighten the sinus

Good luck!  I'm glad she's getting it done sooner rather than later.

There are some pics of nose ops here - I presume that's the kind of thing she's having doing?
