Thats brilliant news.

I remember when Issey had had her op, the best thing was seeing her being able to play.

Well done Mango xxx

well done mango and well done you, CC. I have concluded that aspiring to one's youthful weight is pointless. If I were to go back to 8 stone 12, I would look like a gaunt skeleton. As you mature, your body needs a few curves to fill in the gaps left by gravity ...

The vomiting could be all the discharge going down the back of her nose & throat during healing (speaking from bitter experience here  )

It should ease up over time. It does take 2 or 3 weeks to heal.

hope Mango's doing better? The vomiting could also be all the muck that she's swallowing. Hopefully that's easing up now too.

How is Mango now?  The vomiting might just have been a reaction to the anaesthetic.  It will take her a few days to get back to her old self but I'm sure she'll be bouncing around in no time.

When Mosi had his op a few weeks he wasn't himself for a few days but he soon bounced back.

Just caught up with this and am thrilled it is going well for Mango  :Luv:

As well as dehydration, I bet the drinking was to replace fluids lost in the operation plus, yes, it must be easier to drink now.

Pleased that the drinking excess has stopped, reckon she was thirsty but also discovered how much easier to drink it was  ;D

Aww, I am so glad she is home and doing well, I wouldn't worry too much about the water at the  mo, but you could always ring the vet to put your mind at rest. Fingers crossed the swelling goes down well.

I'm sure she is just catching up. Bearing in mind she couldn't drink all day and I'm guessing but maybe the body is tring to flush the toxins (anaesthetic) out. As has been said, if she is still doing it tomorrow, its worth a call but I reckon she will be back to normal drinking tomorrow.

That is a lot of water........ummmmmmmm maybe cos dont know how big the dish is. For her to be laying by it sounds like she is very very thirsty.

Lets hope she is not still like this tomorrow morning cos I would definately ring vets and do not want to set you off worrying but Kocka who was very many years older than mango, ended up with kidney probs after an operation.

I know my current vets put older cats on a drip before the ops to stop dehydration and kidney probs and I would hope that your vet used all the necessary precautions for Mango.

I also just wondering if now she is able to breath better it means that she also can eat and drink better and she is just doing some catching up.

ok gill , she has eaten but she has drank half a bowl of water  and has it all over her chin and is laying next to it  which is very unusual iv never seen her drink like this

ill be up with her most of the night . I have refilled the bowl to the top and then i can monitor how much more she drinks and tell the vet in the morn if im still worried

yes I think that drinking is good for her but watch how long it goes on for and if she is still doing this in 24 hrs I would ask the vet.......havent seeen Lynn around for a few days cos she would know.

Maybe she got a bit dehydrated or was already.
