I say we should all vote for these 2 babes, for them to win. Its not about the cat/s who win, its about getting the food for rescue. And Im sure we are all agreed on that

I think we need to remember that while votes from friends, family etc obv help a lot, there will also be casual browsers who will vote for cats they like the look of.

I know what you mean, Helen, and while I like the idea of doing everything we can to get a Purrs winner and win the food for a rescue, I suppose I just feel that putting all our efforts behind one cat and, effectively, withdrawing all the others from the competition is going against the spirit of the competition.

Of course it's only a bit of fun but if we could win a years worth of food for a rescue in the process then what's the harm in combining efforts and asking others to vote for one cat - if you don't feel comfortable asking then fine but I'd be happy to ask friends/family/colleagues to vote for someone elses cat - they know I'm a crazy cat lady so wouldn't be surprised!

I too have voted for every single Purrs cat/dog/bunny (more than once when it's let me) and have said from the offset that I don't think the boys stand a chance of winning - I simply don't know enough people!

I think a purrs cat has as good a chance as any other cat - no more, no less.

My point, Helen, is that I wouldn't feel comfortable asking work colleagues to vote for anyone other than Mosi. I can be a bit of a pain and jokingly nag people to vote for him because they sort of know him - they've seen his pic and I'm always talking about the boys. But I couldn't push like that for another cat and even if I did, they aren't as likely to remember to vote as they are for a cat they know. They are not cat obsessed like me.

I think we are all taking this too seriously now. yes it would be fab to win the food for a rescue (but I'm sure there are probably non purrs entrants who are planning on doing the same) and I hope a Purrs cat wins, but it's all just a bit of fun. I'm having fun seeing how high Mosi can get but I don't think for a second he will win. And I have voted for every purrs cat (and bunny!).

Realistically none of the Purrs cats will win... unless they can get many more votes from elsewhere. If we chose one cat that we would all then ask our friends/family/work colleagues to vote for (with the intention/selling point of winning the food for a rescue) then that cat might stand a chance. If all Purrs people vote for their own cats and other Purrs cats then we will all have roughly the same amount of votes but none would be the outright winner of the competition (IMO).

If you just ask your own friends/family/colleagues to vote for your cat then, although they would have more votes than those that have been voted for just by Purrs, they still wouldn't have the huge voting range of 20 odd Purrs members friends/family/colleagues.

Why do we need to just vote for one? It's not like we can only vote for one entrant. And while I'm happy to ask friends to vote for Mosi, I'm not sure I could ask them to vote for other cats that they don't know. At least, I could ask but I don't think they'd be as willing to make the effort to vote.

We can't all keep voting for one entry - unless you can change your ip address, once you've voted, you can't vote anymore. So I can't vote for Lucas and Riley again.

I don't know how the scoring works but I would guess that the stars are an average of how many stars they have been given by voters. So a cat that had been voted for once but who had received 5 stars, would be on 5. Whereas a cat who had been voted for twice but been given only 4 stars each time, would, presumably, have 4 stars but would be ranked higher in the most popular.

They are Gill, the winner will be the cat with the highest number of votes overall not the most 5 star votes...

The first prize will be awarded to the entrant submitting the photograph receiving the highest number of votes on the image gallery between 06/04/09 and 13/05/09. The runners-up prize will be awarded to the photograph receiving the second highest number of votes

When you sort by most popular it's in numerical order of the cat that has the most votes, not necessairly the most 5 star votes. At one stage the boys were third (page one) but they have gradually slipped down to seventh (page two). Oh well, it's the taking part that counts but would have been nice for a rescue on here to get all that food!

What ever I press Franta is always on page 18!

Think most popualar or most recent just show that page and then the number is back to one and the whole lot start again as far as I can tell.

I wish you could just put in page number rather than having to scroll all the way through

They do seem to move around the pages. You seem to be able to sort by most recent or most popular. Franta is on p18 if you sort by most recent and p8 if you sort by most popular. I think the pages are staying the same when you sort by most recent because none have been added over the weekend.
