I think it is helpful doing some sort of memorial.  I do a memory book and it is sad and makes you cry but they are worth it.

Since Tigger was pts i had to do something like a memorail for him, it has helped me come to terms of his passing, now i can visit him anytime, it's also about my other pets who have passed, and of course Meg! who is still here!
