That's what I thought. The more it stretches, the more likely the cat is to panic and try and push its way out of the collar with its leg. >:( Gah. Returning said collars and reflective tags it is!

I think with this type of collar the elastic interferes with the clasp opening quickly. Also, elastic increases the chances of the cat getting its leg caught in the collar.

Really? So elasticated and quick release are the safest type I can get them? I just wanted to double check. :scared:

i would have thought elasticated and quick release would be good.
In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Another question about collars
« Reply #1 on: January 02, 2008, 21:21:13 PM »
I bought four extremely cool reflective collars as part of my cats Christmas presents and when I went to put them on the cats today, I noticed that although they are all quick release they are all also elasticated. Doesn't that defeat the purpose a little? Are they safe to use? Am I going to have to return them to the shop after a lady ordered them in for me especially (I requested reflective) on the basis they aren't safe?  :censored:
