Disappointed if not surprised at the paltry sentence handed out to the callous thief, she could have stolen a laptop or TV but no, she chose a family pet that she knew would cause maximum distress. As for the 'not remembering' she should have her sentence doubled for lying in court  :tired:

I can't believe they needed 'experts' to work it out!  :-:

Exactly!  :evillaugh:

Very odd that if reports are to believed that the MP believes it's the missing cat

Edit: Didn't spot your post there Teresa, of course I hope the poor hedge kittens and strays can be rescued :care: That doesn't stop a national news story about cats being of interest to cat lovers

I wish the poor strays and 5 kittens under the hedge in Manchester I have been asked to help  could get as much attention.

"The fate of a kitten stolen by an MP's wife has been plunged into uncertainty again after a veterinary expert cast doubt on claims the animal has been found alive."  :(

OK, I've got to say this - if that lady knew of her husbands indiscretion, I don't think it's totally out of the realms of possibility that she DID suffer a bit of a mental blackout once the stress of the situation got to her.

Having said that, I don't deem it acceptable to sneak into someones house and steal a living animal. It always annoys me when animals get dragged into human dramas.

I'm VERY glad the cat has been found safe and cared for.

I was born in Sparkhill  :shify:

Can only assume that Beauty was microchipped altho no mention of that.  How else could someone identify a tabby cat after 13 months esp bearing in mind it was a young kitten when it went missing.  John Hemming is very much a publicity seeker and I can't help doubting the truth of what we are being told.  It would certainly be helpful to his ex wife for people to believe that Beauty had been found safe and well.

Obviously I very much hope that Beauty is OK.  Another report suggests she has obviously had kittens but no one knows where they are  :(

I think a huge amount of tax payers money has been wasted because an MP couldnt keep his flies zipped,he deserves to lose his seat, if he cannot stick to his marriage vows then how the heck can the electorate trust him. As to the wife she deserves to be punished for taking the kitten, but I hope she gets some psychological help now.
Importantly the cat is now safe.

Sod the husband , would only be concerned about the cat/ kitten.
Husbands can speak and look after theirselves !

Typical community  service again , should throw her in jail for a while, too soft in this country !

As I understand it she hasn't been sentenced yet.  I cannot express my thoughts about this excuse for a human being ......

Well she was convicted of the theft but on non of the news reports I've looked at does it say what her sentence was,so just like the MP's caught with their hands in the till,I reckon she'll get off very lightly with, say a £100 fine.

Doesn't help the little girl who still asks where her kitten is..

Hope the kitten is alive & well somewhere but in all honesty....

Nasty woman to take our her jealousy on an animal.
You can't change the world by rescuing one cat, but for that one cat you are changing its world.
