I am glad you are going to take her, it is important to let her be part of the process, this cat could be with her for the next 20 years. It would be nice if she fell in love with an adult rather than a kitten.
Please spay your cat

A reputable rescue wont home cats as a present and it would be a shame if 1 or 2 needy rescue kittens miss out on a home just cos they need to be secret. Taking her to the rescue could be the surprise and part of the gift of saving a life instead of filling the pockets of someone else.

I hope you're joking Carina - kittens should never be a surprise present! :scared:

Must admit millys_mum talks a lot of sense - she may even fall in love with one of the harder to home cats!

I would take your mum to a rescue and let her be chosen by her new kitty, it wont be a surprise in a box but thats not a bad thing imo   ;D

Rescues are full of kittens at the moment!

Have a look on catchat.org to find a rescue near you, they may have just what you're looking for and you get to help a kitty.
