Title: Cats and Mongolian Cushions!
Post by: Gillian Harvey on December 15, 2006, 14:55:28 PM
Just bought 3 lovely duck egg blue mongolian cushions for my lounge (Sainsburys had 3 for 2 offer!), arranged them on the settee and chair - blinking Joe just wee'd on one, humped the second one and settled down to sleep on the third one  I despair !

I bought one of these ages ago and Blip will not go near it - funny isn't it? Not much comfort to poor Gillian though!

Just making sure he approved of your purchase next time I think he should get catnip to!

Can sympathise our dear feral triplets Xian, Shaile and Sparkle figured out how to open the guest room doors and di both beds - they aren't allowed in there usually so had to wash and Iron to complete beds!

The girls are only bad when things are new and they can't smell them or any other cats on them - they are now 2 and have come on in leaops and bounds since we moved this was the first major incident but doors now locked!!!!

Note in our house the ladies have all the brains and the boys are usually caught in the chaos they cause!!!! ;)

He, he - it was quite funny really, as Joe was the only one awake when I bought the cushions in and I just knew he was watching me as I arranged them, but didnt occur to me that the little s :censored: d was biding his time until I walked out of the room!

And here he is again today - curled up on his chosen cushion, fur side up this time  ;D

Well I washed the peed on one, before reading the label inside that says dry clean only  >:( -
However it seems to have washed ok - but boy, is it taking a long to to dry - I'm gonna have to get my cats blow dryer out and give it a blast  ;D

Gillian, did you wash it in the washing machine or by hand? If the former, what's the backing material on yours?

NB no sinister motive!

Hi Christine

I washed it by hand and the label says 100% polyester for the back. Its got that mock suede feel to it. If its polyester, and the 'fur' is polyester and acrylic, I can't see why it needs to be dry-cleaned anyway, do you? Its actually dry now and it seems fine, bit of a shake to get the 'fur' lying right should do it! The only thing I've gotta do now is get the wiff out of the the actual cushion pad itself coz it went right through  >:(

Well, day 5 of the mongolian fur cushion - Joe is still attached to it like glue, don't think he's moved far from it since I put it on the chair  ;D

Aw bless, shame about the one that got wee'd on, but as others have said, it must have been the free one so doesn't matter so much  :evillaugh:

He does look ever so cute on HIS cushy though lol

Oh dear, I must confess to  when I first read this...  :evillaugh:

Mind, my two have appropriated the new laundry basket I bought the other day. It's one of those rattan jobbies with a seat on top - and I made the mistake of putting it down temporarily next to the stove while I brought the rest of the shopping in.

By the time I had wanted to move it upstairs, it was ahem, taken...

Umm, so much for that then. The old one will have to remain in service for a little while longer methinks.  :Dont know:

So anyway  ;) - you may be thinking all I can see is a cushion - but no, look closely and you just see a tail peeping out from UNDER the cushion now

Joe sleeps on that cushion every day - better than any cat bed I ever bought 'em  ;D
