One of those bad days yesterday that you sometimes get in rescue. First of all our oldest resident Gracie had to be put to sleep on vets advice. She had come into us as a stray having been spotted wandering around and she was very thin and bedraggled. Estimated age was at least 15 but possibly more. She had been with us a few months and we were hopeful of finding her a new home once we got her arthritis under control. Sadly over the last week or so she had become very unwell and the hard decision was made to let her go. She was a lovely old girl and we are thankful that she was well looked after and spoilt rotten by her foster mum in her last few months. It was expected but very sad nonetheless.

We also heard yesterday that one of our youngsters who we had sucessfully rehomed and was also called Gracie had died suddenly from kidney failure at only around 8 months old. The vets had tried their best but sadly little Gracie didn't respond to any treatment. We are all shocked at the loss of one so young and are so sorry for Gracie's family.

So a very sad day yesterday for us all.
RIP Gracie and Gracie look after each other at the bridge
