If he's startng to gain weight his body may need extra fluid too, hopefully it will settle down x

My birmans drink a lot but not that much.

I suppose he could have been dehydrated from his past and is catching up big time.........we can always hope  :shify:

Lots of love to Arthur cos he deserves some quality time

He hasn't had bloods yet, will be speaking to the rescue, and also seeing if their vet will give him some Antirobe for his mouth (he was seen by them to be vacc'd last week). Zia drinks a lot of water, but not that much in one day - and on Sunday, he literally drank half a bowl in 1 and a quarter hours, then spent another 5 minutes sat at the bowl constantly drinking - he hasnt' had any dry food while he has been here. He is such a content cat (although not quite as happy in the bathroom now!!).

Were his bloods ok? I have to say though my 2 oldies probably drink that amount.  He sounds lovely, hope he's ok .

Arthur's drinking is still worrying (at least half a bowl a day, sometimes closer to 3/4), - but normal poo!! His breath is awful, but I dont think he could stand an anaesthetic. I let him come downstairs last night, as he is likely going to live his life out here (and he is fully vacc'd), and there was a bit of hissing from him and Sam, but I did have them both on the settee for a while. He has an incredibly large appetite too, he wanted to eat everything in sight!!

he prob was cross cos he wanted a fuss and I wanted to take a pic!! He hasn't drank much today, so hopefully it was just the stress of the journey - his tum isn't as bad and while his fur is greasy, it doesn't look as bad.

I also noticed something else this morning that a quick search says can be related to kidney issues - teeth grinding - I have never known a cat do that. His breath isn't great either.

I think he looks about 17/18ish to me - maybe more but it is always hard to tell especially when they aren't too well, he's gorgeous anyway whatever age he is.  I am glad his tummy is a bit better today, is he friendly?

He is - the vet has seen him twice and hasn't volunteered an age, just 'very'!! I wouldnt have said anything less than 15 though, unless his appearances are deceiving - I haven't properly looked in his mouth though.

WEll, his tum isn't quite as bad after having 2 poos overnight, but he has drunk more and wee'd a lot, so I wouldnt be surprised if there wasn't some kind of kidney or liver issues going on, bless him. He is on sensitivity for a couple of days as his poos aren't great, but they do look a lot like Mabel's did.

Fingers crossed that is all - he was seen by a vet on Mon for his second vacc and a weigh, but it feels funny to me - although I thought that with Molly once, and the vet said it was just the way she was putting weight on - his is incredibly large though, will try and get a pic.

I hope that he is ok, maybe his tummy is a bit distended if he's started to eat more and until he starts to actually put some weight, fingers crossed.

He is Jane - I just hope I am wrong with his health, but his tum does remind me of MAbels (and I was drawn to him as I just thought of Mabel when I looked at him, even though he is darker than her), and hers was cancer. He has also drank a lot of water.

They are, and I dont really like the thought of them in a rescue environment - while ours have lots of sofa's and stuff, it isn't as good as a true home environment and he will have more one on one here - Sam did see him in the carrier and was fine with him, so once we have seen how he goes over the next week or so, I will start integrating him.

Arthur is an pale ginger and white, elderly gentleman, not sure of the reason for him coming into rescue, forgot to ask, but he has some old injuries and was very thin. He has put on weight, but his belly does seem a bit odd to me, I am not 100% convinced the weight gain is a good thing, especially as he has drunk quite a bit of water in his first couple of hours here. I am fostering him to give him some TLC and we shall see if he can be rehomed, although he looks funny due to his old injuries, i think they make him look very appealing. I will upload pics tomorrow as he just wants fusses tonight, bless him.
