Poor babies :care: Maybe they could star in the Purrs Save A Life Video Mk II
They would be honoured Helen.

Right am a tad embarassed about some of the words on this thread, got to just say there are no human stars, the cats are the stars and they are the ones who deserve the praise and recognition not me, I am just the lucky one who is able to help them through their dark days.

Update this morning Miss Piggy (Hester) still being a gannet, Hercules is brighter again, his eyes are looking good, he has eaten well but he still has the loud crackle on his right lung; will be glad when I can begin worm treatment but vet told me to hold off on flea and wormer for at least 5-7 days because their bodies were too weak.

What a fantastic achievement to bring those 2 little mites from the jaws of death and turn them into 2 beautiful kittens who hopefully under T s tender and dedicated care will go on to find wonderful homes, T certainly deserves an MBE

What a tribute to your care, Teresa.  A tale of compassion and dedication as well as of hope.  Thank goodness for Paws Inn.

you are miracle workers at Paws Inn

these two scraps just weeks into a precarious life, and Gracie at the very end of a long one

I hate to gush, but I think you guys are wonderful :Luv2:

I tend to agree. Gush away, Teresa deserves all the praise she gets; not to mention an MBE.

A tale of Hope from Hercules and Hester
« Reply #1 on: August 03, 2009, 11:21:47 AM »
Rarely post my rescues on here these days but I think we all agree that Friday was such a heartbreaking day for Purrs people, didnt post because I was crying for you all and fighting for 2 little lives now a little happiness to share some hope for better days ahead, so heres the story.
Hercules 8 weeks and Hester 4 weeks both ferals were brought to me lifeless on Friday afternoon, had I rushed them straight to vet they would have been pts, (severe cat flu). Spent over an hour rehydrating little Hester as she appeared to be nearest to death, then turned my attention to Hercules his eyes glued shut with puss and full of ulcers, his nose so solidly blocked it took ages to clean, fortunately I had the right medication available and we spent the remainder of the day and all night syringe feeding them both, Friday night I was convinced that Hercules would die at any minute,he was so lifeless for a kitten who should have been tearing me to shreds. Saturday and a visit to the vets told us that his right lung was badly infected but vet agreed that if we continued high level of care he could make it.
Well each day we have seen progress, Hercules is still very poorly but both he and Hester are now eating unaided and last night I was treated to the sight of Hecules washing himself, Hercules isnt moving about other than to food bowl and litter hes saving his strength but little Hester is having the time of her life playing and pretending she`s Miss Piggy.

I didnt manage to get a pic of Hester when she arrived as I was too busy caring for them, youngest son arrived when I was half way through cleaning up Hercules and took the pic that shows his suffering. The other 3 pics were taken this morning while I was mucking them out.
So Purrs peeps remember no matter how hard life seems there is always hope for better days
