Terrifyingly, I was informed that free sites are trawled by people looking for bait for dog fights by a local rescue worker recently.

I heard some disturbing news the other day that someone on the Wirral was scouring pet shops and ads for free kittens so he could feed them to his snake  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(

I really hope this little lad went to a good home  :Luv:  :Luv:

DISGUSTING - I know cats catch birds  -but thats nature - feeding a kitten to a snake in not nature -  :censored: :censored: >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Hopefully they won't pay £10 for a snack  >:(
DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

I understand, Gail. A small bundle is landing here today for much the same reason.

The "must go today" bit REALLY peed me off. Hope they answer soon, the sooner he's off the Tree site the better.

the only thing I could think was they are getting rid of lots of stuff and just copied from something else - maybe I'm a bit naive who knows

That struck me as odd too, Dawn. That's a scam sentence usually, but seemed bizarrely out of place on here as they said you could go and see "their situation."

Better than free - but a bit of a double edged sword really. No amount of money can guarantee a good home (look at how many pedigrees turn up in rescues) but no money means people looking for a cat for the wrong reason will be more inclined to go for that ad. Terrifyingly, I was informed that free sites are trawled by people looking for bait for dog fights by a local rescue worker recently.

Ad as follows:

£10 to ensure good home.

I always wonder what makes folk think that £x amount of money makes a good home?

As they have the bit about posting abroad  then they probably think the extra £5 will put the unsuitable people off  :tired:

Ad as follows:

"Hi, I'm selling a ginger and white kitten. normal x breed. He's a friendly, loveable character. wormed, deflead, litter trained. Reluctant sale but must go soon due to house renovation. £10 to ensure good home. Thanks. More imformation on request. Comes with food and bowls plus the scoop for the litter tray. This is a genuine ad and you can collect the cat yourself to see what situation I'm in. Also I will not send through post or abroad. Must go today. Thanks x"

He's gone up from £5 to £10 in a day....not sure what that's about. Lovely little guy.
