Oo this might suit me actually.  We're looking for an indoor cat but then eventually they will have the use of a courtyard style garden (once I've sent all the details off to securacat).  We're checking out Battersea on Monday but if you can't find the right cat I'll try Monmouth.  We live in Reading though so maybe that's a bit far for home checks etc etc?

Where is Monmouth near? Sorry my geography is awful!  :shy:

It's South-East Wales on the Wales/England border it's south of Hereford, West of Gloucester, North of Bristol.

Hi Laura, glad you found us.
Is there a website for these cats? If oyu've not used catchat before, they can also help by posting and also providing a website for you.
The link to cat chat is at the bottom of each page. I think some of the regulars on here do this for some rescues so may be abel to advise you more on that. We also have some members fairly close to you geographically.

what a terrible situation, how many cats are there in total and why is the rescue closing? Is there anything that can be done to help it stay open, at least until the bundles all have safe homes ???

Hi,
My name is laura and i am a volunteer at Westlea animal rescue in Monmouthshire, south wales. We are desperately looking for good caring homes for a variety of different cats as the rescue centre is closing down, we have got cats of all ages, some live on their own, some in pairs,  some that would make great house cats and some that need outside homes. If anyone could help especially if live locally to area would really appreciate hearing from you. :scared: :thanks:

I have just spoken to Laura who is a volunteer at this centre. I have given her this web site and suggested that she posts on here. Some of the cats may be outside cats.

I've been in touch with a horse (!) rescue in Monmouth and the lady I spoke to says that there has been nothing in the local paper about the closure of a rescue over the past week.

Think thats the end of this thread unless anyone knows/finds out any different!

Not sure how cosher this is. I have lft a message to find out.

"over 50 lovely , beautiful cats of all ages and colours, urgently need a permanent loving home ,where they can be petted and pampered. homes needed due to closure of a rescue centre, runs and pens can be provided if needed , free. "

Tel is 01600 711995

Don't bombard them with calls please but if anyone here knows anything about it?
It doesn't ring true - wouldn't a rescue put out an appeal somewhere else?
