We have two huge and wonderful white cats in at the moment both are deaf so need an indoor home. They came with a lot of belongings so whoever wants to take these cats into their home will be set up with everything they need.
"Gigi came to us with her friend Maurice and they are looking for an indoor home together. As deaf cats they have to live indoors as they can't hear for danger. They were both very much loved in their previous home but when their owners had a baby they found they couldn't spend the time that these two splendid white cats that they required. Indoor cats need extra stimulation than cats that can go outdoors to stay happy. Both cats have very sweet tempraments but can find change stressful. Gigi and Maurice are looking for a quiet home with a new owner that is able to spend time being entertained by these two super cats."

Wow, what absolute stunners :drool; Surely they won't be waiting long?!
I don't understand how someone could give up their much loved pets due to a new baby though, I would make time for them even if it meant less attention during the day when the baby was being more demanding :shy:
-
Poor babes, I'm sure they'll get a super home though they're gorgeous :Luv2:
I hope they find a lovely home together very soon
-
Wow they are beautiful :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: Good luck to them xxx

So sad they are still here. Although they get so much fuss as they are a lot of volunteers favourites.
Being (a rather large) double act tends to put people off, although we were hoping that as there are people wanting inmdoor cats they would be snapped up sooner.
Heres a vid of them in action - not much action mind, i think they are rather above bouncing around ;)

They're such gorgeous cats, it breaks my heart to see all these lovely cats without a proper home of their own, you can see watching the video just how sweet they are. Please give them an extra snuggle from me when you next see them  and lots of luck xx
-
I really thought they would be snapped up, not only are they spectacularly beautiful they are also indoor cats and it's actually quite hard to find rescues that are willing to home indoors (in my experience anyway), am really surprised they are still waiting :(
-
Phew! maybe its good karma posting about them again :)
Maurice and Gigi have gone to their new home this afternoon, living in a flat with a retired lady who wants to spend her days fussing over them ;D
-
Brilliant brilliant brilliant news :-)
-
:wooooo:
That's one lucky lady :wow: :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
;D that's fantastic, I was a bit tearful seeing the video of them yesterday :shy:
I'll move this now.
-
Great news! :D
-
Unfortunately been asked to move this thread back as the homing didn't work out
Tons of luck their perfect forever home comes along very soon xx
-
Oh no :( I just want to give them a big hug.
-
i know, its was very sad to see them back here although if its not going to work then its best that they get another chance at a home that will appreciate them
aparently they were too loud
i know deaf cats meows are loud but they would be they can't hear themselves.....
someone is coming to see them today though (they will be grilled)
..everything crossed
-
so what these gorgeous boys need is a deaf owner
if this latest potential adopter doesn't work out, I wonder if you have a local association for the deaf which would publicize an appeal for you to find an ideal owner
-
It really surprises me the reason people bring cats and dogs back to rescues. My old cat went deaf when she was old and did meow loudly but Xander is just as loud and likes to sing in the middle of the night and he isn't deaf. Also cats can get louder as they get older so it doesn't sound like getting a cat is a good idea for them.
-
Sorry it didn't work out for these two  They must be so confused, poor little things :(
Fingers crossed for the viewing today but if it's not to be then Kay's idea is an excellent one - no issues with them being loud plus a deaf person will hopefully feel a bond with them straight away due to sharing their disability.
-
Oh what a shame for these poor boys. I've heard this about dead cats before and them being v loud! Then again I've lived with a vocal Balinese cat... You get used to it!!!
I know it's important they get the right home but it astounds me people can give an animal back! The commitment is made and you just deal with it.
How did it go today? I really hope the new people snap them up and are more tolerant :-(
-
the new people were absolutely lovely and took them home ;D though thanks for the idea Kay, it was a good one
they have gone to live in a three floor house - hopefully all those stairs might get them in shape a bit :sneaky:
the new owners were told they have loud meows and they thought that was cute, they were told they might rampage around a bit at first and they thought that was cute too. although by the look of the photo they sent us of them they have just plonked themselves down by the fire :)
-
Awwww what lovely photo of them, don't they look content :Luv2: their new owners sound lovely too!
I've got a silly grin on my face which I can't see going any time soon and I'm going out now but who cares :evillaugh:
I'll move this now.
-
thanks Jane ;D here too!
