Title: Chatting about the auction or questions etc
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 05, 2010, 19:15:42 PM
Think the title says it all  :innocent:

You cant chat on any other thread in here so this is the place.

Any chat on auction threads needs to be accompanied by a bid  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

I'm not going to give too much away but we have had some fab donations from lots of wonderful corporate sponsors and if there are any of you who are fans of Simon's Cat I suggest you get yourself over to the Auction on Nov 21st cuz you never know what you might find!  :innocent:

oooh I've said too much already ... (runs and hides before Gill spots me!).

Remember NOV 21st the fun begins

ahhh that jo. The auction always seems to run very well i have to say, considering as well that all the work is done by volunteers, internationally as well its mind boggling!  :star1:

i keep reading that as goes to show not shows to jo though  :see:
Title: Re: Chatting about the auction or questions etc
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 13, 2010, 23:36:06 PM
Yes its all volunteers and this is the first time we have had international aid  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

Jo used to be here in UK but went home before last years auction. So it will be her first time helping and boy is it tiring  :innocent:

We have loads all working behind the scenes to get each part organized cos the auction is so big now that just me and Tan cant cope by ourselves anymore.

I will do a role call at the end of the auction cos without all the help it would never get done.  ;D

Apart from one pattern I found which can be used for other purposes after how it could of been misinterpretted  was pointed out to me by Gill I have spent the afternoon looking for alternative patterns for the auction so more cute cat toys will be appearing over the two weeks.

Have just been to PO and have had to have a little change of plan with the food as to post it isn't worth it so a quick phonecall and I have sold the bags to a friend so will make a cash donation for this prize - lady is a Pensioner and has jsut had to buy new glasses so we have got £25.00 to start us off if Tannikins could advise how to give the money will donate it tomorrow ;D

Liz the best way is to send via the shop through Paypal but make sure you add a note that its for the auction.

If its coming from you cos she paid you then the better option would be to do this at end of auction using the info we give out then, cos less likely to be lost in a black hole cos most auction money will come in 24 hours after auction closes.

I am still racking my brains for something I can auction, I have some ideas but my fabric box is looking a little sad so need to think a bit more creatively!

At least I know mine was purely accident as they are normally so good but they were playing and one jumped and caught the pots on the draining board with a back paw and then it was a smashing time as the saying goes.  At least non of the cats have cut themselves it was more a misjudgement of distance.

Well tomorrow me off to try and get some nice wool colours for more toys for the auction, at least food shopping is done and was over the moon when I saw Felix as good as it looks back on offer at Morrisons.  Someone did ask about Rabbit Whiskas supermeat being available on its own and it is  ;)

We need to get highest bids on everything, so you sneakily slide a new one in and sit back and watch the fun  ;D

When I checked my emails this morning saying threads had been replied to, I had 25! I am not bidding on that many items surely!!!!

I didn't even think of writing things down on a post-it, that would probably have been a good idea, rather than my daily mooch and 'oh I'll bid on that' system...

I am supposed to be doing xmas dinner for my mum this year round mine, do you think they would mind beans on toast?

I sat there a couple of days ago and read and found what I was bidding on and wrote down p&p plus what I had bid so at least I have a rough idea.

Well have managed to translate the knitting pattern into a crochet pattern so sorry guys you will be getting the finished item soon in the auction

The only alternative to beans on toast I can make is cheese on toast , I am afraid

Or you could go through the 150 or so items and see what you have bid for and what if anything you are winning.......sigh

I remembber typing Feline at least twice last night and Dawn F a few times but I dont know how many Jo wrote LOL and there will be no list of bidders until the auction finishes........................so suggest you study all the replies to your posts very carefully and keep a record of what you bid on from now.......................I remember one feline bid that is definately a beans on toast bid lol and was £15 on the bed.

However I have only just got back so no clue what has happened today

of course you can, lol, there is not much information out there about Byzantine Thebes, so I am going to expand a bit and cover the power of silk!!! (I am not mad, but as a political tool, being in control of a very desirable commodity, of tightly controlling the import and export of the silk only to specific countries and the high quality silk itself was only really worn by very high up rulers and whatnot)
actually...I think I am mad, lol

2000 on the dot by the Purrs site clock.

Any bids 1 sec late or more will not count.

All info is in the auction section , including a new thread at top about how to pay, please read carefully.

There will also be a post on every thread saying what to do both for the auctioneer and winning bidder.

It will probably take all evening from 2000 to get all the information up so please be patient with us.

Good bidding tomorrow  ;D

Just want to wish everyone good luck with your bidding and hope you all get something  and get your bid in no later than 2000 TODAY  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

And if you just want to make a donation, or as well as bid, then you do it with your winning bids or just as a donation, as in the How to Pay your Money thread stickied at the top of the auction  ;D

Believe I know the details cos pay for Purrs Save a life Draw by s/o.

what about pledges on the name a cat and feed a cat sticky threads, Gill?

just add the total amount to the amount on a bid, or is it better to wait until you have posted up the total required?

If you have won more than item you MUST wait for your totals to be posted by Tan later before making your payment. Other add ons will be included in this (from the stickies at the top of the auction).

I hope this is right mods!? It was that way the last couple of years and also states this on the how to pay thread. :shy:

Yes it would be the reference that would need to be changed to "Auction and User name" i would imagine as the sort code/account number is the same.

I know Tan mentioned previously that bank transfer would be fine, I'll PM Gill to confirm plans haven't changed :shify:  Gill has confirmed that bank transfer is OK, just need to include auction and Purrs name if bank will allow it as a reference. Please PM Tan to let her know you have sent X amount and what the bank account name it's coming from is  :thanks:

Anything to keep paypals greedy paws off......I think Tan is also gonna try and arrange gift aid so maybe some more to add to the bids.

I will be posting up individual totals up BUTTTTTTTTTTTTT not sure if Tan has included the stickys but will try to work that oiut.

Just all be patient please and auctioneers PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY ITEM OUT UNTIL TAN OR ME POSTS UP MONEY RECEIVED.

I don't know what your personal circumstance are... but if at all possible, could you please post my two items as soon as you can. (I did pay in full by Paypal yesterday.)   I only ask, because I plan to put them in a little stocking that I'm making up for Rosie, my mother-in-law's cat, and I would like her to get it in time for Christmas. :thanks:

Those that have sent me their addresses I am just awaiting confirmation from Tan that she has indeed received the payments.  As soon as that is done if it is tonight it is on what you bid on then I will post in the morning or otherwise it will be the next time I am near the Post Office which will be the 20th December that they will be posted.

Hi Ellen,

I don't know what your personal circumstance are... but if at all possible, could you please post my two items as soon as you can. (I did pay in full by Paypal yesterday.)   I only ask, because I plan to put them in a little stocking that I'm making up for Rosie, my mother-in-law's cat, and I would like her to get it in time for Christmas. :thanks:

Jasmine they will be posted in the morning after I have been to the doctors as it has been confirmed on the spreadsheet that funds have been paid, all those that have given the addresses will be posted out tomorrow.

It is more a case of only going out if I have to and if I do doing everything together as being in Lincolnshire we have got the weather quite bad and got more SNOW last night and the previous lot still has not gone and have had no mail for over a week.

I agree with Ellen, I remember some bids from someone who put in brackets that they worked fro Ron.  There might've been 2 people???  I think one of the items was the Cat Car Sticker.

Those of you that have given the address for items GOOD NEWS items have now been posted and if you had more than one item if it has been possible have put them in the same Envelope.  Royal Mail do not expect too much of a delay and all have been sent First Class.

Hope you all like them and your cats enjoy them.

Sorry for slight delay, not been on pc at home the last couple of days as spending time with my family.

On a day off work so have managed to make payment, post on all my threads and send all PMs - phew that was hard work - not helped by a certain Luna trying to help by sitting on my shoulder

Not sure why I've ended up winning 4 of the personalised collars when I only have 2 cats  perhaps it's a hint that I need more cats
[/color]

Now that's what I call getting carried away  :naughty:

Note to yourself:   must get 2 more cats in 2011  :naughty:

Mary

Am in the process of doing a deal with gillian2u who had wanted 2 collars and only got one so I'm happy for her to pay for another one and then my donation can stay in the pot too so a couple more pounds for Ron  ;D. Have explained all to Sam in my PM.

So I only need one more cat in 2011

I would just like it to be known that I am more than a little miffed that my local sorting office seem to be mostly incapable of getting anything more than letters delivered and yet Liz, who apparently lives somewhere in the arctic circle these days, has had loads of her auction items turn up already!

More than a little grumped and aggrieved by this :P

:P to you both. I have actually had two cards of a parcel each through my door, one yesterday and one today. Yesterdays will be delivered to my lovely neighbour tomorrow and todays I will attempt for redelivery Saturday, we'll see what the weather does. As for the rest, who knows now we've got more bad weather due over the next few days!

The one thing I have received Helen posted first class on 9th and I got it on 14th  >:( there may be some more tonight when I get home as my postie comes quite late.

Just a quick update from me, I have one parcel to collect from the sorting office which I think is the stuff from Sam, am trying to wait for the other big parcel (Tan's stuff) so I don't have to go twice. Still waiting for the things from Tan which I know have been posted and the one from Shona which has also been posted. Don't know what's going on with the post where I am, can only assume it's because of the backlog from a couple of weeks ago when we had the really heavy snow. It does appear they could learn some lessons from Liz's posties tho

The pink sherpa collar is stuck in customs and the teddy from Lost Cats hasn't been sent yet I don't think.

Think that's all my items accounted for  ;D

I can't see them when logged in but maybe because I have signatures disabled?

ETA - I just checked and when logged in, the news box disappears  :-: - I'm sure it was there before.
