Ging don't want no fuss

Poor baby, what a nasty night for her. Good to hear all is now well

Baby Mandu is due her annual jab so yesterday I called the vet and booked her in for this afternoon. Pure coincidence ten minutes later she came running in the cat flap and was panting heavily and breathing really quickly. Her furr wasn't up which it usually is if she has had a run in with a fox or another cat. She lay down on the bedroom floor in a place she doesn't mormally lie and carried on panting and breathing really quickly. She never goes in the road but we have a private, gated car park so I wondered if she had been hit by a car. I also thought she might have eaten something and been poisoned. I rushed out to have a look so I knew who to deal with later and if there was any food pick it up so Sid or another cat/dog/fox/bird etc wouldn't get it. There was nothing there.

I came back in and went to Mandu and tried to carefully pick her up and she hissed at me which she has never done. I thought she must be hurt so I called the local vet. They agreed to see her as an emergency. We went down there, got her on the table and out of her box. There was nothing wrong with her at all. She purred the whole time. Well except when the thermometer was inserted in her bottom but I'm sure that would make all of us squirm.

The vet thinks she must have just had a fright. I think Little Sid hid around the corner carefully holding a balloon. When she got close he jumped out and popped it. Although I do live in Tottenham and there are a lot of gangs about. I think maybe she was threatened by a cat gang. If she was her brother will sort it out. I'll have to check the car park for furr.

Thank you all for your concern.

As soon as I got into bed last night Ging jumped up onto his usual spot (my pillow) and was heatbutting and purring like anything,he seemed fine from then on.  Still have no idea what made him like he was earlier in the night though unless he was trying to tell me he wasn't keen on his whiskas country pate I'd given him earlier lol  catswho'd have em?

I had the same problem with King Bilbo a couple of weeks ago. Like Ging, he avoided fuss (and me in general), but was otherwise eating and drinking ok, cold snout etc. I took him to the vets just in case and forked out for a consultation and bloods to be tested. That very same night he jumped up on my lap and purred away like nothing had ever happened, the little sod 

Everything came back fine, and we put it down to something outside that had bothered him

He's probably just keeping you on your toes ... you know how contrary cats can be    You are probably being punished for something you don't even realise you have done wrong .... yet!

I'm sure Ging will come round later and be back to his normal cuddly self

I'd agree with Blackcat....sounds like he's been outside and got spooked by something!

if he has been outside he may have had a run-in with something and still be feeling a little unsettled ...

I don't know whats up with Ging but he's acting odd tonight

Always after food he comes onto the sofa for a fuss with me,well tonight he jumped up but he wasn't heatbutting nor was he purring which is so  not like him   I went to pick him up just now and he couldn't wait to be put down and he usually loves being picked up unlike Grwndi,I hope my baby boy is ok

He's eaten and drank some water and his nose is cold and ears are cold but I am a bit worried
