Hello All,
I hope some of you can help me.
Her name is Dominoe. She is just over 1.5 years old but pretty small in size like her mother. She has a fluffy white stomach, her front two feet are white, and her back legs are white. Her mouth and chin are white, and she has white whiskers. The rest of her is black. We love her very much and miss her terribly. She went outside on Friday the 9th of Oct 2009 at 4pm (Abingdon Road, Tubney, OX13 5), she normally has dinner at 5.30pm and is home for that, but not on Friday. She has not been home since that day. :( I have knocked on many doors in my neighbourhood, and called her name at various times through the day. Please can you help us, we are so upset. :'(
Kind regards,
Amanda

Hi Amanda & :welcome: to Purrs, sorry it's under such worrying circumstances
Have you seen 'Sam's tips'? They really have been instrumental in helping many, many cats find their way home or helping the owners find them... http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,305.0.html
Dominoe is beautiful by the way, really hope she's home soon
Edit to add: It's worth putting where she is missing from in the title - you can change the title by editing it on your first post.
-
Thank you Helen for your message and for the tip about my title. As for that link, that particular lady has already posted to me and so I have her tips, thank you. I will definitely do the hoover bag and unwashed clothes.
Thank you for your kind words.
Kind regards,
Amanda

I think one of the most important things from that list is POSTERS, POSTERS, POSTERS (and fliers, fliers, fliers!). Only this week we had an owner on here tell us her cat had been found after being missing for 4 months because someone saw her poster in the local chip shop and recognised her.
The more people that know she is missing the better
-
Yes I have dropped off lots of posters today and tomorrow I will put some more around. I have given them to pubs, milletts farm, petrol station, the local golf course, neighbours. I have posted it on my Facebook page too, and have sent out to my friends in the Oxfordshire area to post the link to their friends.
-
Fingers crossed you'll get some sightings at least then, if not she may be trapped in a shed/garage or similar so it's just as important to get people to check. :crossed: you get some positive news soon

Hi Amanda,
Welcome to Purrs ... sorry you've found us under such sad circumstances. I am "Sam" ... she of the tips! LOL. They are in no particular order and different ones have worked for different people ... I received an email earlier today from a lovely guy whose little one had been missing for 3 weeks .... yesterday eveing he decided to sprinkle used cat litter from his other cat onto the garden ... within 3 hours the missing kitty was in the garden and crying to come indoors ;D (It may have been coincidence or may have been very smelly litter ... we shall never know ... but obviously the chap is over the moon, the kitty is home and everyone is happy).
Mytop tip is posters .... get as many posters and flyers out to as many people as you can. You also need to think like a cat .... just because it may seem a long way from home for a person for a cat who can hop over fences and cut through gardens it doesn't take long to cover quite a large area.
Good luck and stay postive.
Sam

Gorgeous cat and hope you find her soon
-
So sorry your lovely cat Dominoe is missing Amanda, hoping you are reunited with her very soon
-
Thank you everyone for your kind words.
Apparently it is raining tonight but tomorrow will put out some cat litter, unwashed clothes and empty out a hoover bag into the garden. Fingers crossed she comes home soon.

Hello Sam,
I am on the Feline Forum but they will not accept my photo as it is not 400x400. I have changed it and still my photo is not accepted. Can you help me?
Kind regards,
Amanda

Do you mean the forum on CatChat? If so then I've found it can be a bit picky with the file size of each pic - I'll happily post the pics you posted here to your thread over there for you but don't think you've posted it yet?
-
Oh yes thank you Helen, I would really appreciate that. ;)
Kind regards,
Amanda

Done! Do keep us updated

I am sorry to welcome you to Purrs at a time of such worry and hope that Domino comes home soon
-
Thank you everyone for your kind words. Dominoe still isn't back. We call her every day and look around but nothing. :( We miss her SO much!!! Some people have said that maybe another family has taken her.. I hope if this is the case they'll see sense and give her back to us. We love her and miss her and we want her back!!
-
Get people to check their sheds, garages and green houses.
A friend of a friend has just got her cat back after 5 days....he was locked in someone green house.
Good luck., hope she is home soon xx
-
Sorry to hear there is no good news, as Michelle says she could well have snuck into someones open shed/garage etc so worth asking people to check while you wait
-
keeping fingers crossed for you xx
-
I hope you are reunited soon, don't give up hope
-
Still no news. :(
-
Hang in there hun, keep going to places that you have already been to...keep the search going! Best of luck!
-
Still nothing. :'( And my other cat is so depressed he is not eating today and he is not himself. He misses his little sister... :(
-
you must give him lots of extra cuddles while you both wait for Dominoe to turn up again
you need each other now
-
Sorry to hear that  Don't give up hope though, there are so many stories of people being reunited after weeks, months and even years in some cases
-
 sorry you've not had news yet, hope you have good news very soon, give Dominoe's brother a big hug from me please xx
-

-
Still no news. :'( Tommas her brother misses Dominoe so much. He sleeps with my mum now most nights. He sleeps also a lot on the cushion from the Summer chairs as that is where Dominoe liked to sleep on. We miss her so!! I am almost sure now that another family has her. But where she is and in which town she now is, no idea. :(
-
Never give up hope and do hope at the worst, that Domino is with a family safe somewhere

awww  no never give up hope. Is Dominoe microchipped? the reason I ask is if, as you're thinking she is with another family then at some point they will take her to the vet and hopefully find she has a chip - this recently happened with a cat of someone my sister knows.
-
No unfortunately she is not chipped. We miss her so. I find it worst for my other cat. He feels lost without her. He loved playing with her. Dominoe was his half sister, as they both had the same mother. He is such a different cat since she went missing. We try to comfort him but we are not cats. Also we miss Dominoe so much. Is there any hope she will ever be reunited with us?? I am very doubtful about this. It makes me so sad that I will never see her cheerful little face again. She really was such a cheerful and happy cat.
-
Yep always have hope, have you tried posting leaflets etc further afield?

Yes. I myself reunited a family with their cat Zsa Zsa after she had been missing for three months, a couple of years ago: she just turned up in our garden one day. The interesting thing was that our respective homes are only about 500 metres apart as the crow files (or the cat walks) but they are separated by a mews area and a church. These are not barriers to a cat but Zsa Zsa's family didn't think of leafletting in our road because of them.
-
Still thinking of you and little Dominoe
