welcome Sian
The flintstones sound like a right bundle of fun.  :)

They do sound as though they need a bit of socialising . It will take time but the more new noises and experiences they have, the more they will realise not everything will hurt them.

Its good they they are sensitive to surroundings though because it will help them to survive outdoors eventually  if they are  to be outdoor cats;)

You could try supplementing Fred's diet with some chicken and fish if the vet approves. If he has the runs he is at risk of de-hydrating so make sure he always has a fresh bowl of water available all the time and it is changed daily as kittens are real fussy and would rather drink the fresh water from the toilet bowl than day old water
Hope the little fella gets better really soon   ;)

Have a look at wizz's site and check out her recommendations on bonding with your cat.

In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Hello.

I have had Barney and Fred for a little over one month.  Fred, whilst fine in himself has had the runs pretty much all the time and has been sick on occasion.  Barney was the same at first but following a treatment has been fine.  Fred seems to be finding it harder to get rid of it and he is now on special food and tablets although he seems hungry all the time lately, i don't know if thats a good or a bad sign!

Both are energetic, good looking boys! as i type they are having a wrestle on the kitchen floor.

Fred is affectionate and will actively seek me out.  Barney is will not!

i appreciate barney may never be a 'sit onyour knee' kind of cat (although i wil never give up!) he does on occasion let me have stroke and although i don't pin him to the ground(!) he does stay there or his own free will, although its like he is humoring me and can't wait for me to get of him!

my main worry for both of them though is how jumpy and scared they both are, especially barney.
(although you wouldn't believe it as they are currently having their morning mad hour!)

they run away at any noise, barney runs if anyone goes near him, they disappear if there are vistors, and i know they are both dying to get out of the house but i can't even get close enough to barney to put a collar on him.

i hope that over time they will both get better, patience is a virtue! The first week they arrived they didn't come out from under the kitchen table, so already the difference is amazing.

BUT if anyone does have any advice on how i can help them along a bit.  or how to introduce them to the outside I'd be grateful!!

Thank you!!
