I'd like to put some 'promises' in the auction as I can't offer anything material that's any use... like a few violin lessons or a week's cat-feeding or cooking someone a meal or similar.
Would that be OK? I've seen it done before... works just the same.
-
I think that's a great idea. I was at a charity auction recently and they had several lots of this nature. You'd need to specify a region of the country, I guess? :luck:
-
Yes lol you'd definately need to specify region... cos much though I love everyone there's noooooooo way I'm driving to Carmarthen or Kent or Aberdeen to deliver a violin lesson or some chocolate brownies or something!
-
Yes definately go for it, but specify all details ;D
-
My goodness whats wrong with Carmarthen? I am getting very upset this morning, better go and have breakfast
-
Nothing's wrong with Carmarthen I absolutely LOVE the place but it's a weeeeeeeeeeeeee bit of a long drive for me with my sorely back from Manchester! :innocent:
-
And.... breakfast?!? :P
-
Thats OK then, will get my breakfast 8)
-
But it's lunchtime! :P
-
But I havent been up very long and dont know what lunch is......think its something that working peeps have so they can skive off to do Christmas shopping
-
At the auction I went to, the lots were very specific. For example, one of them was dinner (for twelve!) cooked in your own home by one of these celebrity chef types.
Perhaps violin lessons would be a good one? Someone might know a youngster who would like them for Christmas, or something like that?
-
Oh, and take someone with you when you go to give the lesson unless it's one of the 'trusties' from CC...
-
Noooooooo worries been there done that and got the Tshirt. And a tame PA called Jess. ;D
-
Right just so peeps know.
Becca is offering a lesson on the other thread, which she will give free of charge but you must bid for it ;D
-
OK: promises work like this.
You bid for it just like it was an actual thing. And then you pay Ron, just like it was an actual thing. And then I come and give you a violin lesson! Or whatever.
I've got two up now: one one-hour one which I could do fairly far away and a set of 4 half-hour lessons which would need to be somewhere reasonable to get to.
-
I'd like to encourage anyone else to put some in too... especially when they know they live near other CatChatters... I can't afford to buy much and I've got nowt to sell but I can certainly auction a lesson or three!
-
I thinki could but somehow dont think anyone is near me lol (outside glasgow)
-
Give it a go mbll there might be someone and you never know till you try!
