A few days ago I suspected Archie brought up fresh blood with grass in the garden but thought it may one of the feline visitors.
I must say the grass was very spiky. I am going to take him to the vet Monday but was wondering if anyone had an idea what it is. I wonder if the spiky grass could be cutting his mouth or throat. There was saliva too :(

Cats physiology is similar in a lot of ways, it could either be the sharp grass making tiny cuts, think how much a paper cut can bleed, or if he threw up violently it could have caused a tiny tear in his throat. Was it just streaks?

THANKS. IT WAS STREAKS IN SALIVA PAULA :(

Just as well to get him checked, but very likely just a small cut or tear in the mouth or throat. :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

How did Archie get on at the vet Alison?

THANK YOU PAULA, HE IS BOOKED IN AT 6PM. SINCE I PULLED UP SPIKY GRASS HE HAS BEEN OK BUT OBVIOUSLY STILL WANT HE CHECKED :scared:

ARCHIE HAD A GOOD CHECK UP. THE VET MANAGED TO PRIZE HUS JAWS OPEN AND PEER AT HIS THROAT. ALL SEEMS WELL, HUS NECK GLANDS NORMAL AND HEART. IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN HE WILL HAVE TO HAVE A CAMERA PUT DIWN HIS THROAT. I HAVE TO TRY AND KEEP HIM ON SCIENCE PLAN SENSITIVE STOMACH AND LIMIT HIS SHEBA POUCHES :)

It does sound as if either the grass or the 'wommitin' see James Herriot books for reference, ;) was to blame. So relieved for you Alison.
