Title: New today. Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place.
Post by: sillylally on September 22, 2010, 01:17:30 AM
Hi to all.  I am here because it's nearly 2 years since my cat Storm went missing. We keep hoping she'll come home one day as her Mum is still here looking for her  :'(

Please can anyone tell me of any success stories of cats that have returned after so long ? We know it's not very likely & really would rather know what's happened so we can start to move forwards. It's so horrid without her.

:welcome: to Purrs and sorry that Storm is still missing

I cant see the picture for some reason......some just dont load for me..........but certainly cats have been found or returned home well past 2 years. I cant remember how long the longest missing cat that was united with its owners on Purrs is but I am sure we have had one who was gone for a long time.

Never give up hope until its confirmed

Hi and  :welcome:

I'm so sorry that your lovely cat is still missing, that must be hard for you.  Cats are sometimes found after years and I hope that you find your Storm

Thank you all so much for replying. I find a lot of people I mention Storm to just laugh a little because "it's only a cat, it's not like it's your child".

I have some really bad days when I just can't begin to imagine what's happened. I look everywhere for her, I look at every cat I see... oh I'm sure you all completely understand that.

Anyway, I wanted to thank you so much for this site & just knowing other people take it seriously is so nice. I have even tried to ask for help on Facebook, but nothing has happened.

Sally  p.s. Sorry the piccy came out so BIG !!

I hate that phrase "just a....." Like family member that isn't human is devalued by that in some way. :(

People on here definitely understand. Stay positive.

Sorry to hear your furbaby is missing. I regard my cats as my children, as do people on here with their cats - so rest assured no-one will ever laugh at you for referring to them as your babies

I can see the pic, and Storm is absolutely stunning. Really hope she finds her way back to you

Never give up hope x

Hiya and  :welcome: to Purrs  :)

Anyone who says 'just a cat' is longer a person I want to stay friendly with lol, I almost feel sorry for them as they haven't shared the wonderful bond that humans can have with animals  :shy:

Sorry that  Storm has been missing for so long, she's a beautiful girl  :Luv2:  Don't give up hope

There is no such thing as "just a cat" .... they are all special and unique and anyone who says different is liable to get a  :slap:

 :welcome:  to Purrs

Sorry that Storm is missing, my Gizmo went missing at about the same time two years ago she just vanished into thin air and I think there really comes a time in your life when you have to move on.

My elderly cat (Spotty) just walked through the cat flap about ten years ago and made my house his home, none of the neighbours claimed to know him and the local rescue did not have him on their books but presumably he belonged to somebody.  My work colleague had a Siamese cat who disappeared from the house after she introduced a dog into the family, she presumed he had been run over but she caught sight of him again some two years later, he had found himself another home just aroud the corner.   Hopefully your Storm is being looked after by a kind family.
