Title: VOTING IS OPEN for the Purrs Cat Show 2008 and chat
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on May 30, 2008, 22:23:27 PM: Here we are, its ready to go and it will be opened at 0001 on I June ;D ;D

This year we are allowing 5 votes per person cos the voting is gonna be so hard cos every cat is just dropdead gorgeous ;D

If anyone sees that I have got anything wrong please let me know asap so it can be corrected to what ever your emails said I should do............but I really hope all cats have the right name and are in the right class. :shify:

A word about the voting...............OK a few words :rofl:.............This is a Cat Show not a photocompetition and second , in LOLcats please vote for cat and caption..............these are stunning :rofl: :rofl:

Please note that the first round of voting will end at 2100 on 8 Jun, ignore the bit in brackets cos thats the system doing its thing :evillaugh:

The top 3 cats from each class will go into the semi-final.

To make this show a success now, will be down to all of you that take the time and trouble to vote. All those who entered their cats deserve to have your appreciation and the only way that can happen is for millions of you to vote...............OK hundreds then ;D

The results of the voting will be hidden until voting closes so please do not say who you voted for :shify: :shify:

Its gonna be so hard to vote cause the LOL cats will have ya larfin so much you will need a tena (i have some spare if anyone wants one :evillaugh: ) and the other classes you will be ooooin and ahhhin.

Thanks so much for the fantasic responce for entries into the show. We have had near 300 pics in and raised a fantastic £363.50 so far incl donations for the rescues :wow: When the show is fini in June, we will be able to give this plus the shop profits over to at least 6 rescues on our funding list ;D

Thanks sooooo very much to everyone who entered and made it possible for us to help our wonderful rescues :hug: :thanks: Thats the main reason for the show and every single one of you and your beautiful cats are winners :Luv:

You cannot change your vote once you have clicked the send/save button and once you have voted even if its only once in a class thats it, end of votes . However, before you send your vote in for a class you can change which cats you have chosen.

Soooooooooooooooo to sumarize:

You have up to five votes in any class.

You can change which cats you have chosen in a class as long as you have not sent in the vote.

You can not change your vote or vote again once you have press the vote button in a class.

You will not see the results of the votes until the first round is completed.

Some classes have a lot of cats but all pictures are on one long page so as long as you scroll to the bottom you will see all cats in a class.

Think thats is but any more questions just ask ;D

Ya may vote for your own cat :)

and just to repeat an important bit from Gilly ..... In each class, Make sure you select all 5 votes before you click the sumit vote button! If ya only tick one and then click the sumit button, you cant go back and vote for any more or change your votes!

Lats night i did a separate back up after we fini the classes and something happened and the forum went down :shocked: thank god Steve came to the rescue and had to repair 2 of the database tables. Thank god it was back to normal in 10 mins lol. :Crazy:

No, Mary - Raffles is not a bighead, he is the most modest of cats and... he has been rehomed here from Paws Inn. Teresa did the homecheck.

No, Mary - Raffles is not a bighead, he is the most modest of cats and... he has been rehomed here from Paws Inn. Teresa did the homecheck.

I can confirm that Raffles is an ex Paws Inn cat; whilst I checked Christine out I did not do the homecheck, think I actually sent him by 1st class post in order to make space. Christine was suprised he wasnt entered in Geriatric class :rofl:

Awww Gill, i had a Persian cat 20 years ago called Persia! She will be in 2009 calender, she was blue/creme.

Yes there will be one Top Cat at the end of all the voting but there are 3 rounds of voting and if you think this round is hard, just wait for the next one where the top 3 cats from each class are fighting it out to get into the top 12.

The final is that top 12 head to head to produce the Top Cat 2008.

Its just a bit of fund raising fun and hope that peeps enjoy it ;D

So get your votes in nowwwwwwwwwwwwwww ;D

I must say there is some lovely cat photos out there and some lovely names as well. But if anyone is dithering and feels the urge Leo would be very pleased to accept one or two more votes, as he cannot bare the excitement of maybe winning something, other then the best kinked tail...!! Leo is you see a real "special" siamese and he has a kinked tail and in another life used to serve on princess and princes by sorting out their rings!

This is the bit i get worried about lol cause we dont want anyone to be upset that their wonderful lad or lass is not in semi final. The votes have been huge and soooo close in every class you would not believe how many classes there has been ties or 1 point in it to go through.

Each and every gorgeous cat has done very very well and each are top cats in our eyes :wow: Thanks soo very much for all the cats entered, without you wonderful lot we wouldn't be handing money over to our rescues to help the needy ones :Luv: ;D

Aww, the boys are honoured :shy: Of course I hope they do well but it really is the taking part that counts :) Can't wait to hear which gorgeous cats got through, the voting was sooo hard and we'll have to do it all over again soon!

Ya right is so very hard as all entered are wonderful and helped in the most important part which was the fundraising for the needy cats. Lol i personally would have loved all of them to go through but to be fair we had to take the voting results that the members voted for so if a cat pic had got through twice it would be unfair to not put that pic through when it got the votes. To only put one pic of the same cat through would mean we would have to choose which pic and we dont want any say in who goes through but only want the members votes to decide or an independant judge to pic any ties. :Luv:

I def to perfer the lol caption pics cause its more on what the slave puts for a caption with the pic in mind so not so much on the goregous cat by his or herself. Next year will only be lol caption show ;) This also means that if there is the same cat but with diff captions, it will be a diff thing to vote on. ;D

About the number of pictures of the same cat/s I would just like to add that we encouraged peeps to enter the show in as many classes as possible and this year to get more entries, as many pics of their cats that they liked in each class cos the more entries the more money we raise.

Now we are into the semi-finals of the voting you the voters again decide which 12 go through to the final so each stage of the voting is decided by the voters and of course you have loads of choice where to put your votes ;D........am thinking of an additional competition to be added on to the cat show next year........who gets the top 12 right :rofl: :rofl:

Last year I learned a lot about running the Cat Show, the more classes you have the more complicated it is to run and to enter and to vote. The more rules we have the harder it is for everyone, so this year have pruned the number of classes and also the rules.

This year I have found that maybe the classes were trimmed too much :rofl: :rofl: but think the rules are about right...........this is definately a learning curve and going by Class 5 this year,and also the number of peeps who sent captions with their entries which were not Class 5, next year is going to be one great big laugh an entry and when times are hard, we all need a good laugh.

I have certainly had some laughs this year with Class 5 and all I can say is to start snapping now and shove the best ones in a special folder for next years Cat Show because they will all be Class 5 but Class 5 will be in different classes :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:.....if you get my drift! ;D ;D

Finally, please vote cos the cats deserve your support and lots of luck to all :hug:

Of course I am really proud that other people see what I see in my baby boys (gorgeous, funny, sweet, loving, cheeky, loyal, beautiful angels) but the main point of the cat show is to raise as much dosh as possible for cat rescues which is why I, and others, entered lots of pics of our beloved cats :)

On behalf of Jameson (he is out jumping around in the garden with a ping pong ball) I would like to thank everyone that voted for him, but also to everyonetaking part in this important competition to raise money! Each entry is a winning one - and I'm very pleased we've raised so much money for cat rescues! That to me it all that matters!

Memphis, Lucas, Riley and Misaman - well done for making it in the top 3, and to all other puddies - you are all equally gorgeous and special and the main thing is not winning, but parttaking!

Here's to lots more happy snapping for next years fundraising competition!!!!
