Purrs was recommended to me by a very good friend of mine on another cat forum, so I decided to join. I've been lurking around for about a week, registered the other day, and here I am lol.
I've always liked cats, but never owned one until Jan 08 when I rescued Peggy from my local Blue Cross centre. She's a moggy of unknown origin and breeding, but my best guess is that she's part British Short Hair, part prima donna and part lunatic. She's about 12-15 years old (according to her vet), and she eats like it's her last meal.
Photos to come as soon as I can dig up my old photobucket password :p
Oh a bit about myself:
Well I'm a 31 year old library assistant from Southampton, into motor racing, classical music, and cats. An odd mixture, but hey. Oh and don't take anything I say on here seriously.

:welcome: to Purrs, Huge. This is a fantastic forum, I'm sure you'll have a great time here.
I also have golden oldies - two 12-year old rescue cats, possibly also part-lunatic and one is certainly part-prima donna!
Looking forward to pics of Peggy.

Glad you've found us, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. It really is a very friendly forum with lots of friendly helpful advice, if ever needed, and of course lots of fun.
I do feel it my public duty to warn you though that it can be a teensy bit addictive  You have been warned :evillaugh:
Hurry up with that passord! :waiting: :pcprob:

Well it turns out my memory is better than I thought. I even found the sig I used at the other place.
I have a load of questions, but not sure where to ask them. So I'll ask a couple here.
Do you have a photo thread, or can I just stick pics on a new thread in general chat?
Do you have an "off topic" section, for talking about stuff other than animals, I couldn't see one. I know some specialist forums don't have them.
Lastly, I can't seem to access certain things like the members list (to find my friend), or page to search for a member. I keep getting this: "You can't view the memberlist because you don't have permission to." Is this only for mods or people with high post counts?
-
Hi Huge and :welcome:
You can post photos anywhere - General cat chat is normally a good place
As far as I can remember you cant access certain areas until you have made a certain number of posts, there is an "off topic" section but that is one of the areas that needs more posts
Look forward to chatting x
