Fifi is a young female needing a new home due to a partners allergy. She's good with children and has recently been living quite happily as an indoor cat, although she has in the past been allowed out and seemed equally happy.
Her diet consists of indoor dry cat food, and is used to low dust lightweight cat litter.
Fifi is flea'd, wormed, spayed and her boosters are due in December. She is, I'm told a very loving girl.
The picture is the only one I've been sent.
-
Bless her, hope she gets a forever home soon! :Luv2:
-
Me too. :)
-
:Luv: Lots of luck for her xx
-
This is now getting increasingly urgent - can anyone help?
-
JS couldnt the lady who was going to have Mika take her in temp till you can sort something out
-
She decided after Mika stayed with you that she wanted to let her boy settle in first with it being a new home. Which I think is fair enough; and my cats are probably quite relieved too.....
-
Get rid of the partner is best idea!
-
Sadly, that advice never works. ;) :evillaugh:
-
Any news?
-
Nothing. Noone wants to offer Fifi a home. :(
-
I know this is urgent but what sort of time span are we looking at for her
-
I don't think she's going to get abandoned, but I'm not sure how long. The partners asthma is apparently increasingly worsening.
-
poor girl :( is she advertised on rescues on CC?
-
She's in rescue and rehoming on there, yes.
The lady has contacted the local CP but they can't do anything as they still have a waiting list they're working their way through.
-
ah right, it's always the case isn't it, sadly
-
Do you know how old she is and how she is with other cats / dogs etc
-
I think she's approximately 2/3 years. Apparently she's OK with other cats but they don't know about dogs.
-
Depending on the dogs she should be okay....My dog ignore's the cats...well apart from Gigga who he cant ignore cos Gigga loves him! :Luv2:
I have cats in my house that have never lived or even been near a dog before, if the dog is placid enough etc.... ;)
-
True, and she's not especially old so that "I hate dogs" thing hasn't necessarily ingrained itself yet..... ;)
-
You would be so suprised in our house JS....Even Blackie the "ROAR!" will even sit next to our Deake and this was a cat who would of had many a run in with living on the streets for 4yrs!
I always feel if you have the right dog then it IS so much easier for the cat! ;)
-
Probably. Never had much luck with dogs and my lot..... ;) Fifi is still looking unfortunately.
-
I've run out of people to ask. If anyone can think of other avenues, let me know.
-
Have you put her on your FB JS? I know you prob have, hope she gets a home soon.... :(
-
She could come down to us as we are relatively empty at present (I know I should never say that should I its asking for trouble) if someone could bring her down (I could meet at Plymouth if needs be) she would be very well cared for and we would be happy to find her a new (homechecked) forever home. PM me if we can be of help.
-
That's a long journey, but to be honest possibly the best option for Fifi at the moment. Will let you know, and thank you for the offer.
-
Agree a long journey but she is a young cat! ;D Finger's crossed with whatever happen's here JS!
-
My pleasure, she looks like a really sweetie I'm sure we could find her a good home locally with no trouble. Let me know if your able to get some transport for her down this way.
;D
-
hi. any more news on this girl? have you asked kirkby cats home if they have room for her they not far away. bramble
-
Nope, no progress so far. Unfortunately, people around here don't see the beauty of this little sweetheart. I think bonnielass asked the rescue you've mentioned.
-
JS can you send me a photo of Fifi to my e-mail addy as i have someone coming to see Lacie at the weekend and ive also mentioned her so a photo would be great and if that fails i may have a rescue place for her, will e-mail further later
-
:wow: :crossed:
-
BL, thank you. Will indeed send you (the only) photo I have of her which is at the beginning of the thread. Will also send another email to the current owners; do you mind being in direct contact with them?
-
I would prefer to do it through you for the time being, but you can ask them if they have a better photo
-
Not a problem. Will do so now.
-
Fingers crossed x
-
More pictures....she does look a love. :)
-
Thanks for the piccs JS , the couple are coming round tomorrow after 3pm so i will show them the photo,s of Fifi and see what they say, will let you know the outcome
-
Thanks, BL. :)
-
Updating....BL said that the couple liked ALL the cats they saw, and will let her know in a few days. So officially, Fifi is still looking unless the decision comes back that they want to offer her a home.
-
Bumping this little lady up because there's no guarantee BLs potential home is going to decide on Fifi.
-
JS will e-mail Brenda and see if she has any space for her
-
Thank you. Poor Fifi, times like this I wish I had more space and financial resources.....
-
Thank you. Poor Fifi, times like this I wish I had more space and financial resources.....
Dont we all JS  only so much you can do, the more converted into mad cat ladies the better ;D
-
True. I keep trying to find somewhere but I had to hold back my opinion when someone called asking if I knew of any cats needing somewhere as their friend was looking. I told them about Fifi and they called me back about ten minutes later saying she "didn't want a black one." I knew it wasn't her fault; the girl has two cats of her own - both pure black.
-
I wish I could be of more help to the little one but unless we can get the sweetie down to Plymouth (where I could meet someone) theres not a lot I can do at present. :sad no:
-
Bless you. I feel it's a long journey for a foster home though, not sure what other people think.
As this is increasingly getting more and more urgent this is a direct email address to Fifis current carers: red_hot_n_foxy@yahoo.com
-
:( Have the owners not heard anything from the rescues? - I presume they're still on waiting lists?
-
I think so. Will email and confirm they actually put Fifi on the lists. (I know a lot of people are quite deterred when a waiting list is mentioned.)
-
Fingers crossed someone near by can take the little one in soon xx
-
JS - I've passed on Fifi's info to a friend of mine who's brother is looking for a rescue cat, he's not fussed about age or colour. The only problem I can foresee is that he lives down here so there would be a transport run involved (which I'd be happy to help with) and he would have to be willing to take her without a proper introduction.
The last bit is the part I'm most concerned about but hopefully I'll hear back tomorrow.
-
A transport run could be done for a permanent home hopefully.
Does he have other cats? She does sound a love to me, but I'm biased!
-
Do hope something is sorted soon, good news that more offer's are coming up, just hope transport can be arranged easily for whoever gets this little angel!
-
Any news from either the people possibly interested who know Bryony or Bonnielass?
-
Sorry, I haven't heard anything yet, I don't have direct contact info for him yet so its all being filtered through my friend to him. Hopefully if he is interested, she'll give me his number/email.
-
Thanks for letting me know, Bryony.
-
Bumping this girl up.....she's still looking, and the allergy situation is not good.
-
Did you ring that no i gave you JS
-
I sent the number directly to the people that have Fifi. I figure they'd surely want to do it themselves.....
-
hi. any progress on this little one? does anyone know if she is fine with other cats or dogs? would a foster home be any use for her? bramble
-
Bramble, as long as it was fairly local I'm sure a foster would be appreciated. Although it has to be said that no official rescue is caring for her so any costs would be the fosterers responsibility. (Unless an agreement was met by her current people.)
The reason I'm told she's being rehomed is a severe allergic reaction so I would think they'd be grateful of any help.
-
do you know where they are in derbys as we also live in derbys. if we were to foster her, would she still be advertised on purrs and catchat to try and get her rehomed? how would this work if there are no rescues involved? is she on any waiting lists? bramble
-
Having fostered myself without rescue back up in the past purely to ensure a cat isn't being rehomed via dubious means it basically means you're responsible for the cat! I don't know if she's on any waiting lists; I asked but received no response about it.
Have emailed asking again and also asking if the current carer would be prepared to contribute to Fifis care if you fostered her.
Thank you for offering. :)
-
hi. thanks for e mailing her current owners. let me know what they think about me helping out. do you know where she is in derbyshire? you never know, she may be quite near to us! bramble
-
Received this email: Its ok in the end a friend took her which was great cos I still get to see her thanks for all your help :-:
Glad Fifi is OK, but a bit miffed the owner didn't tell me so I could update. Ah well! It's sorted at least.
-
glad she is sorted now. was looking forward to helping out by fostering, oh well! bramble
-
Bramble, there's already another cat on our Freecycle! If you don't mind incurring costs, then I can contact them and we'll try and organise things. He's a male tuxedo; around one year old and the people have put him on Freecycle because they've lost their job and can't afford to care for him any more.
They might have found a home already, but in the current climate I doubt it.
-
hi, contact them if you would and let me know if you need me to take him if they havent found someone already. thanks. bramble
-
Very glad this is sorted out!
-
Me too, Bryony. It was really tempting to overlook practicalities and just say we'd take her in the end....
-
Agree they could of let you know!
Glad she is now sorted!
-

-
Agree they could of let you know!
Guess the main part is that she is. ;) Thanks to bramble, asia snow and Bryony for their help.
-
bramble - contacted the person who posted the "newted" cat. Will let you know if I hear anything back.
