Title: TWO 13 YEAR OLD CATS ARE BEING EVICTED FROM THEIR HOME, URGENT sorted
Post by: Dawn (DiddyDawn) on November 12, 2008, 19:35:06 PM
PLEASE CROSS POST.

TWO 13 YEAR OLD BLACK AND WHITE SHORT HAIRED CATS ARE BEING EVICTED FROM THEIR HOME THIS SATURDAY 15TH NOVEMBER 08.

the owner is being moved to accommodation that does not allow pets.  HE IS AN OAP HIMSELF.

both are friendly spayed and neutered.

HE IS MOVING OUT ON SATURDAY AND SO MUST THE CATS.

i am sure you will have all guessed by now i have nowhere to put them, but may have help with transport.  He has offered to pay petrol and will put down what little money he has to make them as safe as possible.  We know that money means nothing to these cats.

CAN YOU HELP OR DO YOU KNOW A GROUP THAT WILL ?

they must

not euthanize
homecheck
offer lifecare
no photos are available for these two - i don't have time to get them done.

THEY ARE BASED IN KINGS CROSS LONDON

Please phone JOSIE 07852166883.

Try Gill Stampe 020 7609 1307

She is a cat carer but also does rescue and has a string of contacts. She lives about 1 mile from Kings Cross. She is bound to know someone. BTW - it's OK to post her phone number as it is all over the web for her business. She is great - does TNR etc

I would have also suggested SNIP but I'm assuming the appeal is from Josie at SNIP?

Have they already tried CP homing centre in Holloway Road - it is only a couple of miles from Kings Cross.

No prob - I just added to the post about SNIP - if the appeal isn't from them, I will dig the number out. We got Clapton from them  :Luv2:

I've spoken to Gill but she said she doesn't do rescue although if she can help in certain situations she will  :tired:  Anyway, she's given me the number for the Islington Council Animal Warden, she said he's very nice and may be able to help.

It's possible she has slowed down a bit. It's 4 years since I saw her and she was getting on a bit then - Have you tried SNIP, or is it them who made the appeal?

Also with CP having a big homing centre nearby, surely they could help?

No, SNIP wasn't the ones who made the appeal but I would think it has gone out to most of the rescues as they have a large contact list but I'll mention it to Josie anyway

I wonder if they have tried the Mayhew - they offer emergency foster care

http://www.mayhewanimalhome.org/whatwedo/needourhelp.html - It says they were set up to help the starving, abandoned animals of London
"The staff of The Mayhew Animal Home are non-judgemental and aim to offer advice, care for and rehome animals that you can no longer care for, whatever the reason. Please note that there are a large number of animals needing this type of help, but we will help or advise wherever we can. If you need us to to take in your animal for rehoming please call us on 020 8969 0178"

Also, I assume they have contacted the local CP?

Not local, but Romney House rescue in Bromley Kent (about 15 miles from Kings Cross) - Silvana won't turn a cat away if she can find the room. Not ideal re distance but if these poor cats are going to be put out to fend for themselves, worth a try?

Derby Shelter is huge and has space for   200 cats yet they usually have an 8-10 week waiting list.  I understand that because even little old me can get calls in bring in over 20 cats some days and of course sometimes we don't home 1 cat in a week.

You have got Celia Hammond in Canning Town but they would probably stay there for a longtime as they are over run with cats. (wouldnt be my 1st choice to be honest)

Romney house is a good idea and You could try Foal aswell ..... they are only an hour from Kings X
