My partner and i are looking for an older cat, a more relaxed cat. We would have considered taking an FIV cat however we have a very small dog and are therefor decided against. But we would LOVE to take on an older cat, a cat that deserves a good home just as much as the rest.
About us: Me, My partner, our 7.5month old daughter, and our very very small dog Jack !
We live in Liverpool, Merseyside. We do not have a garden but have very good sized yard. We live on a road that comes off of a main road, but we do not live "on" the main road. Im at home the majority of the time as i only work part time after having our daughter.
Jack is a very small yorkshire terrier, he is extremely laid back and wouldnt harm a fly. He keeps himself to himself, and likes to just lay infront of the fire.
We would consider an older cat over a younger cat, as despite having a small dog and a young child both are very laid back, as a household we are all laid back, very relaxed and generally quiet. We are willing to drive if anyone feels they have any cats suited... obviously main priority being a dog and child friendly cat!

To be honest with you just because you have a dog is not really a reason not to adopt a FIV cat, FIV is purely at cat 'thing' and cannot be passed on to humans or any other animal.
Perhaps you will care to see http://www.catchat.org/fiv.html and also http://www.catchat.org/fiv.html for rescues in your area.
I would also think that perhaps an indoor cat (which a FIV cats needs to be) would possibly be best in your situation.

Please consider an FIV cat.
Even though You don't live "on" the main road the main road is still very close, Cats dont stay in their back gardens so rescues might not consider you for a cat that is allowed to go outdoors.

If you can't find your new friend on that route, let me know as Paws Inn, in nearby Cheshire, is chock-a-block at the moment.

I am also in Liverpool (Walton) and cannot recommend Paws Inn highly enough, doesn't take long in the car to get there (well under an hour).
I have 2 indoor cats and 1 dog. 1 of my cats (Kiki) is from Freshfields Animal Rescue, they are fantastic. :Luv:
