Title: Ducha RIP has been on his last trip - Tribute and pics
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on August 16, 2012, 11:41:22 AM: Ducha is very not well today and has deterioated a lot over the last 24 hours. He has been very slowly going down hill over the last couple of years.

I cant believe on Monday his 19th birthday he was doing well and tucking into a chicken dinner and now he wont eat and is turning away from food.

I am devasted and think this maybe his last trip as he seems to have lost the will to live :'( :'( :'(

Please send him some good vibes, we are going to see Gareth at 1800, the last appointment and would love to think he maybe coming home again but afraid I dont think he will............................

Its so sad cos he is lying in his bed gently sleeping like any other day except he has not eaten more than a lick for over 24 hours and has since yesterday just become bones.

He was sick about 3 times in the night and when awake just lies there wwatching and only tries to move if you take food near and that is to get away from the horrible stuff.

I am dreading waking him up to go in the carrier and hope he does not start singing cos I think if he does I will bring him home again but will take Gareths advice.

Whom am I to have the right of life or death for my gentle little man :'( :'(

We have to leave in 45 mins and apart from using the tray around 0800 and having a drink and a couple of halfhearted licks of his food, that has been it.

I just want to stroke him but dont want to disturb his peace until I have to :'( :'(

It's awful when they suddenly go downhill like that- all you want is for them to bounce back for a little bit longer even though really you know it's time.

As others have said, Ducha had a long and happy life but that doesn't make it any easier I know.

Oh Ducha my special boy my heart is broken and just dont know the words to say.

I dont feel I ever gave you as much as I should have and for that I am so sorry, I know you wanted to be a lapcat but your 3 legs made it hard for you to get comfy and you did try for a short time.

I so wish I had seen you as a 4 legged cat cos I reckon you were just like Napoleon and even with 3 legs you managed to get over the fence................sigh, I was so scared when I saw you trying to get back and pleased I was on hand to help.

Up until just over a year ago you liked the occasional walk in the garden but most of all you liked the bedroom where you have lived since day one. You were the kindest, most gentle cat and my little slinky minky you also had a devil side :innocent:

You loved to sleep with me on my bed and put your head on my pillow next to me and then while I was asleep you would get your paws in my hair and lick it and send out your happy purrs. I loved your happy purrs and am so sorry I couldnt have you lying on my head since I was ill again as my head hurt too much. I hope you understood that I still loved you just as much :hug: :hug:

I sorted the bedroom out just for you with everything you needed and you used it all. You hopped across the space from my bed and your bed on the sofa and used me as a road during the night. ;D

I would have loved to have you downstairs more but over the last year the stairs were too much for you most of the time and you hated being picked up. You were a proud boy and wanted to do things under your own steam.

I always meant to take loads more pictures of you and am so sorry that I didnt.

I was so pleased you had a lovely 19th birthday and enjoyed your chicken dinner but so sad you had to leave so soon after :'( :'(

I loved you with all my heart and hope that you know that and this tribute seems so inadequate for the huge hole in my heart that you have left.

Pictures are Ducha on his 18th birthday and for me the very sadest two of him yesterday morning before I made vet appointment. I so wanted him to start eating but he didnt and underneath those fantastic looks he had lost every ounce of weight, he had had. It literally dropped off him in 24 hours :'( :'(

It took Napoleon over a year to send me one but when he did it was one of the best rainbows I had ever seen and I could have almost driven onto the bottom of it, cos could see the bottom.

Just been on the Purrs birthday thread which will be published on 14 Nov and played the music which is so much for you as it will always remind me of you as it is from the Olympic opening ceremony.

We were so happy then and little did we know that the end of the Olympics would also mean that you were passing to the Bridge.

I hope you are young and happy again with Napoleon and Misa, Sasa and Lupin all miss you as I do.

Right this minute the sun is out and I can see you lying on your bed on the sofa in the bedroom in the sun, may it always shine on you :hug: :hug:

That just brought it all back :( :( :( :(

I picked him up from the vets on his 19th birthday, he ate loads of chicken and seemed fine and two days later he lost weight over night, refused to eat and he had to go to the Bridge. I dont think the vets took care of him and he didnt like being away from people and dont think he ate there just like his brother wouldnt.

He was so gorgeous and found a little bag yesterday with his fur in and today found a picture I had drawn of him....................just so terribly sad
