Please keep up the posting! I don't post on your thread but its usually the first I look out for, I suppose because I'm not a rescue I feel like I'm intruding sometimes(not made to feel that way) if its about rescues in general. Its like a soap opera with cats. :)

I will reply from now on, I absolutely love your thread and often have a little tear for you when you have sad news.

Nicky

T I love your updates and read them everyday. Sometimes I don't post if its sad news cos I don't know what to say :(

I for one think of you rescue guys and all your furbabes every single day.

Sometimes I get frustrated that I can't help.

I think it is truly amazing what you all do.

Thank you, sometimes I wonder whether I should bother to post at all as I think the majority of Purrs people are not really into reading and commenting on rescue, been looking at old Purrs threads and stats and Purrs has changed so much that rescue almost seems out of place now. Anyhow will continue to update while the minority enjoy it.

Well, what a lovely set of piccies to raise a smile this Sunday morning!  ;D  You certainly have your hands full there Teresa (literally!) and they're all gorgeous :evillaugh:  So pleased Bonny is home again with you.

I need to keep those photos to show Paddy - although he feels the loss of dignity so much more, having to have a bath at his venerable age.   ;)

Bit early to ring about Bonny, but her babies have enjoyed a hearty breakfast and a swim before a good massage with baby wipes, they are now sleeping soundly just as well because I am done for. It is crippling me sitting on floor trying to see to them and I cant get up, yesterday I saw specialist regards my joints and the miraculous cure I experienced which got me out of the wheelchair earlier this year was a result of me being on a massive dose of steroids, now the steroids are out of my system the pain and swelling have returned,at least we now have a definite diagnosis psoriatic arthritis, unfortunately the medication needed to help me will compromise my lungs further so I have been told the course of treatment but must wait 2 months to establish regular bloods because of dangerous meds I already take, so there we are a mad cat woman who gets stuck on the floor
Hoping ClaireR will visit today definately need 6 kitten baths, am also praying for 4 more poops

We have all paws crossed here at the Clan for Bonny - the things mothers will do to escape their kids!

T please look after yourself - know the feeling my back is really bad today and spent the day walking like a 90 year old!

So glad you aren't harbouring any nasties - we have been through the toxoplasmiosis stuff so know how hard it is to diagnose

Latest news from vet is Bonny is on a drip, eating for England cost us a fortune in blood tests, we know Felv/Fiv negative, we also know low white blood cell count, kidneys etc normal, have sent off for various other tests including toxoplasmosis (as she lived on vermin/rabbits before we got her), infact vet went a very pale colour and asked could we test for that when she realised that Bonny had been wormed by the vet at the surgery, so all in all it sounds like Bonny is enjoying a good rest from these 6 little monsters of hers that are exhausting me, gone through whole pack of wipes already and had to be lifted from floor 3 times because my leg has had it, right now I need a good cry kittens are gorgeous and so is their mum.
Have also had results of Dustys Post Mortem through and it shows no connection to Melodys kittens PM, indeed the result says clearly no virus, so at least we know that we arent harbouring something dreadful and passing it round, we are just having a bad time of picking up cats with existing conditions.
6 little kittens now sleeping soundly. If i come back in another life it will be as a Tom cat.

Just want to say Red recycling tubs are for plastic bottles round here, they are emptied into a wagon with mess all around by one of the council workmen, so the kittens would have been emptied out into relative safety, ok not ideal but when you have pulled them out of awful places this was at least a thoughtful dumping.

Thoughts for Bonny who is now in vets on a drip, they cannot find anything wrong and have tested blood for everything, it will be monday before we get some of results later today for others, her babies are as bright as buttons and keeping me on my toes with hand rearing.Bonny has now seen 3 different vets who can find nothing wrong with her but now 2 of them admit that my gut feeling is right as her weight as dropped 0.2kg since Wednesday.

more later

That's terrible - like other's have said how could people do a thing like that? Surely putting three kittens out for 'recycling' is as bad as chucking a cat in a wheelie bin?

At least they're now in the best possible hands that any cat or kitten could hope to be.

So glad to hear Chelsea's, Cherry's and Bonnie's babies are coming along well. Hope all the mum cats are too.

EDIT - also meant to add that I'm so pleased to hear Kenny 'Thumper' Dalglish is settling in well

I cannot believe what I am reading! How casn people do something like that and move on with their life with no guilt. I moved back from the loo today and my leg whacked Effie and I was upset I "hurt" her. Who could do these things.

Imagine those that aren't found. :scared:

Finally sat down after settling in yet another 3 kittens. They were found in a red plastic recycling box this morning, lid sealed down tight so dont know how they managed to breathe, straight to vet with them for check up and all had first vaccinations, heaving fleas and earmites but whats new. They are 3 friendly boys about 12 weeks, its my guess they have been brought up in house with children and as children have today returned to school the kittens were put out for recycling while children were away; so at least their owner knew they would found and dealt with.
They were starving and have demolished everything in sight, dread to think what will come out bottom end, little fluffy black one has major lugs around bottom which will have to be cut away, he is called Bumty, other 2 are shorthaired black/whites called Barty and Binny.
needless to say I have now set up no 2 collapsible in the house, Hannah has given up her pen for the 3new arrivals
and she has moved into the house. I need my phone to be quiet, we paid vet £900 yesterday and I have run up over £200 since then with 3 more going in for vaccinations this afternoon.
Pleased to report all else seem fine, Cherry`s 2 black/whites have fully opened their eyes and I suspect her ginger boy will open his tomorrow. Chelseas babies have left the nest and started running round playing today, Bonnys babies tiny as they are have learnt to climb the Pen door today, all hard work but fun.
