This is Willow, sadly she has been returned to the Trust after just 4 months with her new owner because - I quote "she bites, swipes out, is unsociable and non-interactive" >:( Well I think we are talking about 2 different cats here! She's been with me since Monday and she's adorable, a purry little soul who comes to greet me every time I go in the room, chats away practically non stop lol! and is a confident, happy little girl. Yes, I can see she will only take a certain amount of stroking and thats enough thank you very much lol! but if I stop then, she is just content to come and sit by me and purr her little head off! Honestly, I don't know what some people expect >:(
Anyway, she's about 6-7 yrs old (I think she's older, she seems very stiff legged when she walks) and came into the Trust last year when her owner died. She was originally with another fosterer, but when the new owner wanted to return her, that fosterer had given up fostering, so she went to yet another fosterer, and now that fosterer has given up! and now she is with me (in my grooming room!), so she's certainly done the rounds poor soul :(
So, which picture for our website?

Poor Willow she is gorgeous ;D
I think the top picture with her looking slightly upwards ;D
-
What a beautiful girl, sounds like the new home wasn't right for her if she was behaving as the owner said :shy:
Fingers crossed she can find the right home after a stay at the Persian Palace :)
I vote for the 1st pic too ;D
-
Willow is lovely, I hope she finds a home with more understanding owner soon. I vote for pic No 1 as well.
-
Both pics are lovely. She's so pretty! :)
-
Such a pretty tabby girl :Luv2: :Luv2:
Pic No.1 gets my vote
-
poor girl, she must wonder why she's being moved around so much :( she's beautiful and i like both photos of her but i agree with everyone else, the 1st pic is :Luv2:
-
Yes, I agree, the 1st pic it is :)
This one is pulling at the heartstrings I must admit. I so miss having a tabby face like hers around the place after losing my lovely tabby George last year :( - shame she doesnt like other cats :innocent:
-
Oh thats sad Gillian.........are you sure she doesnt like other cats?
-
Yep, pretty sure, the other fosterers seemed to think she doesnt like other cats and she's certainly hissed at mine when she's seen them hovering outside the door.
-
So sad cos she is gorgeous.
-
:Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Well, she has let me know a few times, that I've overstepped the mark with the stroking lol! but I still think she's lovely - a cat with character thats for sure ;) :evillaugh:
-
Ummmmmmmmm I have a cat with character, are you interested
-
Gillian swap you a couple of my swipers for her she is gorgeous
PS all my swipers are used to other cats
-
Willow is still here. Mind you, not long had her on the website, she is so lovely and nothing like the person who returned her described (well, apart from the odd swipe here and there :evillaugh: - but actually she's only done that twice to me. :Luv2:
-
Awwww she is just gorgeous! :Luv:
-
Willow is gorgeous and reminds me a little of my Lily :Luv2:
-
Willow may have a home. I'd nearly thought about keeping her, as she has the run of the house and garden now, and absolutely loves it outside (not surprising after being cooped up in 2 previous fosterers cattery pens, then coming to me and being cooped up in my grooming room :-: ) . She still doesnt like mine though, so don't think its fair to deny her her very own home all to herself. Anyway, done homecheck, lady is coming to meet her on Monday, hope Willow doesnt bite her :evillaugh:
-
Lots of luck that she gets her own home ;D
-
:crossed:
If they choose each other maybe you can sneak Sooty in as a kind of BOGOF offer :naughty:
-
I hope Willow charms the lady and love the BOGOF idea Helen suggested ;D
-
aww poor girl-fingers crossed this is going to work out!
its a shame when people get put off by a few nips etc, theres a pretty girl in our rspca who likes to attact if you rub her belly (moms cat is exactly the same! :innocent:) so she got returned and is still there :(
id love to offer her a chance but there is no way they would because of my small kids etc.
i sometimes think people expect too much from cats, just like people they may not want constant fussing, meddling with their food and litter etc and just have bad days!
god knows my kids have many mad days and i wouldnt get shot so why do people expect more from a cat
-
She is gorgeous!!!!! :Luv:
-
Fingers crossed the meeting goes well today and that Willow is soon in her new home :) :crossed:
-
I hope Willow charms the lady
Hmmm, well, I don't think Willow did charm her :( For a start it didnt help that I'd had to keep her in all day before the lady came, just to make sure she was guaranteed to meet her ;) So Willow was already right grumpy and did nip and swipe once! The lady did say she'd like to bring her two boys (9 & 10 yrs) to meet Willow before deciding and she was going to ring me yesterday to arrange this - no phonecall yesterday, and none today :( so not looking very positive.
-
Thats such a shame, was really hoping her luck was in :(
-
Thats so sad,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,she should try Lupin lol a little attacking pirana!
-
Aww sorry to read this. Hopefully the lady will come back for another try.
-
oh dear..is it wrong of me to laugh
for some reason i just have visions of a woman with sons like the brat on harry potter arriving :shify:
Poor Willow Im sure she will find the right person eventually, tbh she may not have been suited to a family if shes likely to swipe as boys might take it as an invitation for rough play and some women can be a bit mental when their "angels" are concerned.
I know this is probs not likely to happen but is there anyway you can persuade a local paper or radio to do a feature on her? I was watching them american rescue programmes and one rescue has a pet of the week feature on local radio and they said the pet allways got rehomed within 48 hours due to the sucess of the feature (they had a website too so callers could check out the pet of the week online after show went out),
at this time of year when its likely that people are looking for kittens and puppies etc it may be a good feature for a paper to feature a cat such as willow who can get overlooked and needs a home desperately...lord knows what made her that way in the first place to make her so distrustfull :(
-
Well, Willow may have a new home. Nice couple who recently lost their 20 yr old cat. Mind you Willow was pretty grumbly when they arrived as I'd had to keep her in and all my cats were milling around, but they seemed to like her 'quirky' character ;) I will do homecheck on Sunday (unless I hear different between now and Sun - like the other lady who was interested and then disappeared into thin air :tired: )
-
Hope it goes well ;D
-
I am keeping my fingers crossed for her She so reminds me of my little tabby Scrap who sadly died many years ago now When I looked for a rescue cat early this year I hoped for a tabby female but then I saw Oscar on the website and knew he was the one Black and white and enormous and I .love him so much
-
Oscar is gorgeous ;D ;D
-
Really hope the new home for Willow works out. I used to have a lovely grumpy quirky girl, used to swipe us quite often and bit our legs if we went to the loo at night. It was very funny to watch my husband running for his life at night with a cat chasing him. I now have two lovely friendly 8 month olds and It's weird they are so friendly and love to be cuddled, it doesn't seem right to me somehow. You always feel much more honoured when a grumpy cat comes and sits on your lap and purrs.
-
Willow went to her new home Sunday evening - I went and did the homecheck Sunday afternoon and they wanted to come and get her straight away! So they pretty much followed me home (with a stop off by them in town for cat food!) and I'd only been in about 10 mins when they arrived :) They'd already brought a cat bed (nice touch - they'd brought the Willows brand of bed with the 'Willow's' logo on it lol!) scratch post etc - even before they knew they'd passed the homecheck ;D
So, she was duly whisked away - and I didnt have time to get upset about her going (as she'd almost been part of the household anyway since she came in June) and I know its going to be much nicer for her without any other cats, and two doting owners to spoil her rotten!
-
yay!!!
-
So pleased and hope she will love her new home and all that space ;D ;D ;D
-
Wonderful news I so hope that this will be her forever home
-
I am so pleased she has found a wonderful new home ;D
-
:wooooo: :1st place: Willow
So pleased for her Gillian :)
-
That's fantastic news Gillian ;D I'm so happy for Willow :Luv: :Luv:
-
Thanks :thanks:
I've heard from her new owner - she settled in right away, eating fine, been and investigated everywhere, made herself at home by the sound of it - new owner is over the moon with her and thanked me for letting her have Willow (brought tears to my eyes that did :innocent: ) ;D
-
Thats wonderful ;D
-
wayhayyy :wow: so happy..i have been thinking of her so glad i saw this! ;D
-
Yeayyyy!! :)
-
So pleased to hear Willow is settling in so well in her new home ;D

-
I love a happy ending :)
