Pickles :Luv: has been waiting for six months for a new home since his owner passed away in December 2006.
He is a fairly large cat, mainly white with black patches, neutered and around 7 years old. Pickles has taken his change in lifestyle very much in his stride but he desperately needs a home of his own. He is very affectionate around people but will occasionally go to nip so would not be suitable to be rehomed with children. He is very vocal and is wonderful company. He is used to having his owner's undivided attention and as such needs to be the only furry in the household - he does not like other cats and dislikes dogs with a passion!!
Pickles was used to 24/7 access to a catflap in his previous home - I was told he was mainly an outdoor cat but I have not found this to be the case. He loves to lie in the sun, particularly in my bed of catmint which is now completely flat!! He does not particularly like to be outside on his own and will ask to come back in after a short stroll around the garden!
Pickles is looking for a home away from busy roads with an understanding owner - he loves company so someone who works part-time would be ideal for him. He has been tested negative for FIV and FeLV, is vaccinated and microchipped.
Please can anyone offer this beautiful boy a home?

I know someone who could offer a home ...where are you located ?
-
Hope he gets a home soon, he's a lovely boy :)
-
I hope Lisas offer works out :luck:
If transport is an issue peoples here may be able to sort out a run.
-
I bet he used to use the flap to do his business, get a bit of fresh air and then back in again by the sound of it ;D
Lets hop Lisas offer works and he gets a great home.
-
Lisa oooo i hope so hun. Sarah and pickles is in North Clwyd Wales. :wish: :Luv:
-
If transport is an issue peoples here may be able to sort out a run.
A homecheck will need to be done for this gorgeous boy, so Sarah will be sorting this out. Pickles is in Denbighshire, North Wales, xx
-
Wow its the welsh crew ;D
-
The one and only :evillaugh:
-
I am based in Bedfordshire but could potentially collect although not sure about the homecheck :( ..
-
Would a local rescue do one and report back to Sarah?
-
This gorgeous furry boy is still looking :Luv:
-
just doing a bump on the topic. If a car is needed in any shape or form let me know...........
-
The offer i had may have found a cat now :( they are having a home check at the weekend !
Sorry not sure if there has been any other offers ..i would take him in myself if i had the room
-
No he has had no other offers :( It is over six months since his owner died and it is so sad that he is still looking rather than settling into a new home. He is fab - large, loud and very boingy...but fab :Luv:
-
There has been no interest at all in Pickles :'(
-
:'(
Thats sooo sad
-
Poor Pickles!
Hopefully he’ll find a forever home soon, sometimes it just a while.
-
Sarah, I've put Pickles on my Rehoming page.......fingers crossed he'll find his forever home, xxxx

-
That's fab, thanks Dawn
-
Pickles is still looking :'(
My OH lets him out each evening when he gets home - he is not good with cats outside either so goes out under supervision only - and when I arrive home about half an hour later Pickles is waiting faithfully for me on top of the shed - sitting bolt upright and fast asleep :evillaugh:
-
C'mon all you peeps out there....surley someone has a loving home for this babe :Luv:
-
What about making him TOP cat on CC rehoming pages ?
-
He has had no interest via CP either - his owner's relatives apparently find it funny (as in amusing) that he is hard to rehome, I find it extremely sad. The Executors of her estate are now "quite happy" for me to have him PTS - isn't that a great help?!!
-
If you do get stuck, I can still get Margaret to squeeze him in at the stables
-
He would cause mayhem Dawn :scared: He only has to see a cat as a speck on the horizon and he starts doing his stiff legged slow motion walk. He is good and stays close to the house but he has dived on my neighbours (female) cat twice as she was on the drive. I check on him every few minutes when he is out for just this reason.
Elderly cat indeed - you will remember the original description of him in December!!
-
The little tinker :Luv: I'm off up there shortly with the two ferals I've had spayed this morning, and hopefully I'll get to see the torties and the tabby that we took over and get some long awaited piccies :)
-
Pickles has had no interest at all :'(
-
aww poor fella :(
-
Did anyone look into putting Pickles on CC as cat of the month?........has to be more done for this babe....get him on radio in local paper etc ;)
-
What a shame he has had no interest.
-
Has pickles found a home? I would love to have him here in California! My Pinky would love Pickles! :Luv: :)
-
Pickles is still looking but is quite happy lazing around and eating like a horse :evillaugh:
-
Hi Hun How is Pickles? Any luck fro a home for him :Luv:
-
There has been no interest in him at all :( He has to go as an only cat which makes it more difficult. :(
-
....But then i cant believe there is no-one out there who can only afford one cat and cant take him in :( Have local radio stations, papers etc been informed? Just a few suggestions as im sure once fully advertised some-one will want him as he is sooo handsome :Luv: ;)
Sending Pickles strong forever home vibes ~~~~~~~
-
I see Pickles is still on our news flash, how is he and has anyone looked at him yet?
-
Aw bless poor Pickles has been waiting for his forever home forever :sigh:
Hope there is something positive on the horizon for him :wish:
-
I Cant belive the poor little love is still waiting.
-
Just to update this - Pickles is still with me and is fine and happy. There has been no interest in him at all - he is also on the local CPL website but has not had a glimmer from there either. :(
Dawn has met him and am sure she will vouch for how handsome (and enormous) he is :Luv:
He is a little better with cats outside than he was but can only be rehomed as a single puss. He is excellent (obviously supervised) with bunnies/small furries and shows no interest at all in them. He is very good in the house and is kept in all night - brought in at teatime - with no bother.
-
:( Poor little man, how awful.
I drive past the R@PC@ on my way to work and every moring I pray that they are kept safe and find warm loving forever homes, and to keep them and all cats safe.
-
I am back after over a year - since Min died I have been catless and it is a year on Thursday since that awful day. Lots of claps and thanks to Sam (Fussy Furball) for staying in touch - bless!
I'd love to have him but I am one house from a main road with a postage stamp garden and work full time. Anther cat visits daily so there would be fur flying! I doubt if I would pass a house inspection anyway!
I really, really hope that he gets taken up. Just a pity that I can't offer him anything but best wishes for a lovely, loving home.

Theres a cat proofing kit in the auction.......
:welcome: back btw ;D
-
ddraigmor.....you could always put food out on the other side of it to keep your daily visitor fed also ;)
-
Ta all - but reading about Pickles shows I am too close to a road - my Min was killed there last year and it is a dangerous place as it is used by cars on rat runs (etc) and the usual D**kheads with Superloud exhaut pipes and no idea what 30MPH in a built uup area means.
I hope he gets a home for Christmas, whatever haoppens.

Pickles' previous home was three houses away from an extremely busy road (the main road through Prestatyn). I live in a cul-de-sac which is very quiet and he does go outside in the day but is in at night. He is better with cats outside than he was but could not be rehomed with another cat or dog. He is excellent with small furries under supervision and does not show any interest at all in the bunnies - he runs the other way :evillaugh:.
His owner died on the 21st December last year and he has been with me since then. He is at least 8+ to my knowledge.
He talks when he is eating (LOVES food) and has to be obeyed but otherwise he is :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
I am one garden away from the road - so, despite my wanting to say I'll take him - I'd be terrified he'll go that extra few yards and.....
He'll get something. There is someone out there that can take him, I am sure.

I've just had an email about the gorgeous Pickles and they sound :Luv: :Luv: I'm going to forward it to Sarah now to see what she thinks, fingers crossed for the little fella :Luv: :Luv: We will keep you posted
-
Oh fingers & paws crossed for Pickles!
-
that would be a great christmas present!
-
If Sarah doesn't think he's suitable, the lady is still interested in taking one so either way a kitty will get a home :Luv:
-
I really hope this works out :wish:
-
Fingers crossed.
-
Sadly this home is just yards away from a busy road and across the road from a supermarket so not suitable for Pickles. :(
I have emailed you from my work address Dawn so hopefully you will receive it and thank you for trying for him.
-
I've received your email Sarah and I know exactly where you mean :( It's a bit different from the email they sent  Never mind, we'll keep trying
-
Thats a shame, funny what some people see as a quiet area!
-
Any news on Pickles?
He has been waiting for so long :(
-
it has been a long time
-
No interest at all.
I will probably take him off my local CPL website as I have not heard anything at all from them - they had a rehoming show a while ago which I thought he may have been invited to but wasn't :(
He is quite happy pottering about and doing his own thing.....supervising whilst I clean the bunnies out and giving me the odd swipe from the top of the shed :evillaugh:
-
Its sad that they did not take him to the rehoming thingy :(
What is Pickles future now?
-
If no-one comes along he will stay with me and be a bunny guardian for the rest of his days :Luv:
I am still hopeful but as he has specific requirements and is a middle aged puss it is fading a little!
-
Aww, I really hope Pickles finds a home soon, it's such a shame that people don't consider older cats or those with illnesses... :(
But if not, it sounds like he'll have a nice life with Rosiecat, looking after the rabbits :Luv:

Poor Pickles, when I saw the new cats in the news box I was sure he had found a new home. It's just so sad, he looks lovely.

I thought the same thing for a moment... :( Poor Pickles, but he is so lucky to have you to look after him and love him...   to you both!!
-
Pickles had a quite a nasty fight with another puss this morning - five minutes after being let out :( This is the first time things have gone this far as, although territorial, posturing is usually enough. There does not seem to be any real harm done but will examine him closely later. He was however covered in mud and soaking wet so was towel dried (to his horror) and put back in the kitchen. (He cannot go into the rest of the house because of my other cats).
if by some miracle there is someone out there with lots of patience, a sense of humour and who lives in a low cat density area (preferably the sole occupant of an island) please step forward!!!
He is lovely really!!!
-
Oh dear poor Pickles, I hope only his dignity was hurt
-
You see I would take Pickles in a flash because two of my three cats are mainly white with patches so it would be really sweet to have another one who just looks like them. I also like the idea of his age, because my older two are 7 years old. But.....I have a young child and although he has never been scratched or bitten and has grown up with cats and is not one of those nasty kids who do horrible things, Pickles description excludes kids... shame.
-
I have two children (10 and 7) and Pickles is fine with them but he is fairly temperamental so best in an adult only home. One of his favourite activities is sitting on top of the shed and swiping at OH's (rapidly increasing) bald patch. He rarely misses and claws are occasionally involved. :evillaugh:
He could not live with other cats, as my cats will testify. :scared:
-
I somehow have a feeling that if the gorgeous Pickles does not get re-homed he will not be too bothered! :Luv:
-
Any news on Pickles?
He seems to have been on the "Newsflash" forever :(
-
No, nothing.
Although he is quite happy with me, some less than savoury neighbours have moved in across the road. They have three staffies which (they have told me) are used for hunting bunnies :( and are kept penned in the garden. The fence is not secure, neither are they responsible owners and on more than one occasion I have had one of the dogs at my back gate.
I have nothing against the breed at all but these are actively encouraged to hunt. Unless the situation changes I will keep looking for a home for him. :(
-
Gosh staffies that hunt! :( They are usually a lovely breed apart from once they are tought (sp?) to fight/kill they will go after anything that moves!
They must have the decency to make sure the dogs are penned up properly. (poor things)
Good Luck for Pickles!
-
How's PIckles doing ..... hope he hasn't met the staffies :(
-
Just an idea.
The pic of Pickles makes him look a bit fierce, would it help if you took a 'cute' one of him and put this on some homing sites? Perhaps one showing more of his face?
Just a suggestion.
-
Unfortunately Pickles does not do cute and that is actually his usual expression :evillaugh: :evillaugh: As any potential owner would have to be brave enough to cope with the odd swipe (or a substantial smack around the top of the head/a quick nip) it is probably better that they can see what they would be getting!
He is a lovely cat with loads of character...but a bit of a terror :evillaugh:
-
Did Pickle ever find a new home?
