Title: Needing a loving, patient home - Flora (Blackpool) HOMED!
Post by: JackSpratt on September 17, 2008, 10:13:53 AM
I'm in regular contact with a VN who helps rehome cats that for want of a nicer way of putting it, people have given up on!

Since I helped her make a Freewebs site (in the links section) she says she's had a little more input with regards to offers of homes.

However, Flora has been there since I made the site about three months ago. Here's her description:

"Flora is a lovely 11 month old girl that has unfortunately been mistreated, due to this she will attack feet or legs without any reason. It is felt that Flora should be rehomed in an environment with no children. She's fine with other cats. Flora will be a challenge due to the abuse suffered and anyone considering taking her on should take her mood swings into account! But she can be very loving and with time and patience, her attacks may lessen."

I find Flora the most upsetting one on the page. She's so young and with a little time she could be a little star. (Admittedly, she may never stop with her unusual behaviour. But there's a chance with enough patience.)

If anyone knows of a home for Flora, please get in touch with Nicky.

Awwww poor baby  :Luv2: if my treatment doesn't work hunnie she may fit into our house if she is ok with other cats, keep me up to date with her.     Hopefully she will be rehomed quickly but just incase I am going to mention her to hubby as our house is big enough for her to be alone but be around people when she wants isn't it.

I hope someone will be able to give this cat a home, it's surprising how they can change when they have time in a loving environment

Bumping Flora up - there has been significant improvement in her behaviour apparantly and the lashing out has all but stopped.

Bless you - I know you would. Apparantly she's on the way to being a little more cuddly these days - her fosterers must be doing something right for her. :)

Just curious  :sneaky:  does Flora  :Luv:  lash out at other cats ?
We have 2 naughty toms.... & I have a queen, which sounds just like Flora. But we have coped with her mood swings, slaps & bites for 13yrs. (hence her name Splitz)

Very curious about this little gem. Splitz's mother was also like that all her life, so its something we are used to, especially my other half as he always gets the wounds  :briggin:
and we have no kids

Tina - just got this response from Nicky:

"she is really good with cats, in fact she has been playing with the others!!"  ;D ;D

Also got this:

Before I first spoke to you (how long ago was that?) she had been with us for about 4 month, so add that on to the 1st time we spoke and that how long she been here."

I think I first got in touch with Nicky around March, but not 100%. So Flora has been in foster care for quite some time.
