Title: bed dominance
Post by: hevern on September 23, 2012, 21:38:22 PM
hi, i have a bedtime problem,

I have 2 cats
 jonesy:
female, neutered, silver/white tabby
age 3
quiet nervous pesonality
has epilepsy

Mikey:
male, neutered
black
age 2
friendly, outgoing

problem is at night jonesy likes to sleep on top of the bed, mikey will jump up and chase her off the bed, then she comes back up and he does it again, and again,

I have tried locking one/both out the room but they scratch at the door and its impossible to sleep, i always push him off the bed if he does it, sometimes he comes up calmly and lies beside her and i tell him he is a good boy, (not very often!)

He is dominant with food as well, i have to feed them in separate rooms, and he can be a bit rough during play, but saying that they still get on, they will cuddle up together when he is behaving himself,

any ideas ?

In a word NO LOL

I think they will just sort it out themselves but you need to be ready to settle any fisty cuffs that get out of hand

He is gorgeous and reminds me of my Lupin who is two years old.

I have never had a cat this young before and he is a little monster and most of my cats have been boys!
