Title: LOST Ginger Male Cat Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Post by: hayley on September 14, 2007, 09:13:47 AM
 Hi,

My male 3 year old cat (neatered) has been missing from the Barrow Hill Area of chesterfield since Monday 10th September.
He's two- tone colour ginger in a marble affect pattern.
He's very very friendly.
He has a chipped front canine tooth, white around his mouth, a spotty belly, and a thin 3 inch long scar down his tail.
He's not microchipped or waring a collar, as he has never ever gone further than our front and back garden before. He has always came straight home when called. This is the first time ever he has gone missing. We put him out on Monday afternoon, and called him a bit later, but he never came back :(
We've phoned around all the local organizations, including vets, cats protection and rspca. We've put up flyers around the estate and in the town centre. We've phoned the refuse department of the council. We've been every night since monday with biscuits calling his name. He just seems to have dissapeared into thin air. I wouldn't normally panic this much if it wasn't so out of charector for him. In 3 years he's always without fail came straight back when called.

Some pics are attached

Hi and  :welcome: to Purrs

Sorry to hear you boy has gone AWOL ..... I saw you post on the National Pet Register and sent you the list of hints and tips.

I would urge you to pester your neighbours to let you check their sheds / outhouses / garages etc in case he has got shut in.  Do not assume that he will rush out of an open door ... quite often if a kitty is scared they will hide in a dark corner rather than come bounding out of an open door with a stranger stood in the way!.

Good luck and stay positive.

:welcome: to Purrs, although I am sorry it is in these circumstances.  From what you have said, I would not be at all surprised if Harley is not very close but confused.  My neighbours cat once got mixed up and got himself lost a few doors down from his home!

Fingers crossed you can find him soon.

Hi,

Still no news or sightings of Harley, I've logged him onto Mymoggy.com, still waiting for his details to show up online though.

He's due to be wormed and flead today too :(

I've just got back from somone who had taken in a stray that matches Harley's description, but unfortunately It wasn't him :(

The cat however that has been found is a youngish ginger Tom , un neutered by the looks of things, he has the same pattening as harley but paler and with no white on his chin. He is staying with a lady in Dronfield, s18 and has been with her for a few days.

Does anyone know how long it takes for mymoggy.com to put your details online? I registered Harley on there on Saturday and he's still not showing up, I've not recieved an email back either from them.

Sam is the expert on stuff like this, I think but I thought it showed up very quickly.

I would email them and ask.

me, an expert  thanks Gill , shame it' s not true though.

I would suggest giving Sue a call to check she has received your email: http://www.mymoggy.com/I_contactme.asp

With regards to the little ginger you have found it might be an idea to register him on the national pet register found section http://www.nationalpetregister.org/fp.php  (don't forget to include contact details in the ad so peeps can get hold of you).

If you want to search the national pet register ads by county this link will show all the lost ads (for Derbyshire) http://www.nationalpetregister.org/missing-cats/Derbyshire.php

Hello, sorry about your missing furbabe. The rescue I volunteer at is part of Ashfield and Amber Valley CP who have a rescue at Scarcliffe just outside of Chesterfield. I presume they'll already be aware but I'll keep an eye out for him xx
