It is 2 years this afternoon since my baby Max passed. I miss him so much every single day but I have happy memories to go with the sad ones. I remember the mad times of kittenhood when he 'killed' our laundry basket socks; I remember his anxiety when we had dogs for neighbours and then his joy at living in a flat, peering out the windows at passers by and being so relaxed; then his bravery and love when facing his illness and discomfort, such an inspiration. Most of all, I remember the honour he gave me by jumping down from the sofa where he slept on his last night on earth, when despite being so terribly ill, he jumped down and came to lie all night purring in my arms, just looking at me with such love.

I've lit him his candles, sung him his songs (poor Max: cover your ears my sweet one) and bought him some lovely white flowers. I just wish he was here to decapitate them - his favourite naughty thing to do.

I sang Happy Birthday to little Maxsheesh today. He would have been 17 today. I lit him a vanilla candle and I"m sure he's covering his ears from my horrible voice, but I miss and love him and his brother so terribly much.

thank you everyone so much. I am really tired at the moment and it seems that I just didn't do justice to little Max today although I did think of him all day and lit his candles and sang him his songs.
I remember what he went through and my problems seem so insignificant. He was so brave and loving to the end when he spent his last night in my arms with me. I still feel shock about Max as his illness was so sudden. One minute he was so well and the next in kidney failure.
I looked at his photos and Philip's one I had blown up to A4 and has candles all round it and it looks beautiful. A real comfort.

It's one year today at 3pm since my little Maxsheesh passed away. I can't think of anything or anyone but you today Max and hope so much my darling boy that you are at peace with Swampy

forgive me, but I am going to post exactly the same message on both boys' threads here on RB. I am going to be away and not able to light candles for the boys, which I do at night and also on fridays, to commemorate their passing. I have bought a small orchid to put next to their caskets. It didn't feel right to have fake flowers.
I just wanted them to know that I may be away from what was their home, but they are with me always. I know it sounds odd, but I think some of you on here will understand. I keep their caskets in the windowsill where they always slept.

If anyone is lighting a candle in the next 3 weeks, and if you remember, please could you just offer a little thought up to my Swampy and my Max. It is now 10 months since Max passed and 7 months since Swampy passed but it still feels so raw and recent. It's going to be hard as I am going back to where they used to live, in SA, to visit our ex neighbour.

Having moved from my previous address where I lost a loved pet (I brough her with me as she was cremated) I can honestly say the memories come with you, they will be forever in your heart

When my dad died (suddenly) someone told my mum not to make any major decisions for 12 months. She said that was the best advice she'd ever had because the things she had thought of doing would have been wrong. Your bond with Max and Swampy was (and is) so strong maybe it would be good advice for you too. I think you'll know when you're ready to move on, and as others have said, the good memories will stay in your heart wherever you are

I miss my funny little boy Max so much. Monday will be 9 months since he passed. It still feels like yesterday. He was so very plugged into being with his mum, sitting on me, looking at me, talking to me and following me around, that the emptiness is awful.
I'm trying to think what I want to do, if I want to move from the flat or not. I first thought yes as it has so many memories, many of them so vivid, of their last days. Then an american said she'd thought like that and had moved and missed the connection so I'm confused. I suppose give it time.

The sad memories are still too strong. Maxy passed about 7 months ago now and like with Swampy, it feels like yesterday. The flat is so empty. There's no little monster following me to the loo at night to sit on my lap and purr. No little Max to play piranha snappy jaw with. No daft little boy to run and hide when his dad watches football. I miss the way Max looked at me with his eyes soft with love and mine too. He had so many expressions, one for each mood. I remember how, even when so desperately ill on the last night of his life and with his chest flooded and heart failing, he jumped down and came to lie all night in my arms.
I just hope and pray he and Swampy are flying free in heaven and that we can all be together one day. I give thanks every week, when I have a little commemoration for them and light their candles, for the joy and love they brought to us. We were so blessed. But it's still unbearable.
