Depends on your insurance company Ruth - mine covers prescription food, but only for £200 (and I think that is per condition, not per year - disadvantage to Sainsbury's!!), but some dont cover food.

Caroline is visiting Saturday and then I have to go to the surgery with my claim forms and to get more food (they've got some in for me) so will get some now from them and then get the rest from VetUk. Desley do you know if now that she has to have a veterinary diet/prescription food, can this be claimed via insurance?  not being a skinflint...honest  just want to know if this will cover permanently.

Ah right - I have used that, it seemed to go down well here. Much better when they like their 'special' food. VetUK are still doing free p & p on food, so it will be cheaper from there (I know the RC Sensitivity works out about £2 cheaper).
What a nice present!!

Its actually Urinary RC food and Lexy looooooves it! She even lapped up her antibiotic this morning  :Luv2:

And the bandage was found next to my bed this morning as a present to me.... and I've decided if Pickford can auction his whiskers...well the bandage is being auctioned too!  :evillaugh:

Am glad she is home and doing well - curious they have given you renal food rather than urinary food though.

Fantastic Ruth, all sounds very positive.  Lets hope this is the end to her problems.

If the bandage isnt tight etc then just leave her to it, will give her something to take her mind off the stitches  ;)

Glad to hear she's doing ok  :) At least they've given you palatable tablets for her so no stress of trying to force them down her neck. Hope she likes the renal food.

Bilbo asks if you could pass along a kiss to Lexy from him for beign such a brave girl.

Anyone have any idea if Lexy will get rid of the bandage herself or should I try to cut it off?  Though the latter I don't relish

I predict with confidence that you will find the bandage, still in one piece, lying around somewhere and be unable to work out how Lexy got it off over her paw  :Luv:

Good to hear that shes back home.

 :evillaugh: Guess who's home!!!

Yes, Madam Lexy is home, grumpy and a little unsure of things but has set off exploring the house (like its her first time!) and calling me now and again to make sure I'm there.   With an attractive navy blue bandage on her leg and a very very pink belly  :-[ Lexy is more herself than she has been in ages.

I've been given Synulox tablets to give her over the next few days and some renal wet food. Lets hope she likes it because its all she's getting for the next few days.

So now I can be on and off here watching and waiting for her to go to the loo. Have been told what to expect, but there you go.

Saturday appt with Caroline to check on her.  Anyone have any idea if Lexy will get rid of the bandage herself or should I try to cut it off?  Though the latter I don't relish

Thanks everyone for the best wishes. I have been beside myself but now that Lexy is home I feel 100% better than I did and I am sure she does too.

 :Luv2:

Morning Ruth!   Hope you slept well.  Today's the day - you should have your precious little lass back home, creating a rumpus and checking out the furniture very soon, now.  Paddy tells me he sleeped all last night, thinking 'bout his warrior queen and sending her healing purrs, so she could get a good night's rest.    Can't wait to hear that she's home again.
