I'll let you know what is said. She is going to take fluids, antibiotics and a sample.

No food from now til later so will see how things go. Which means I have to not eat either otherwise that's just unfair.

Caroline does visits at home, she's coming over soon as she can after her last call. Since there has been no more blood since this morning, but she is going more frequently Caroline wants to see her sooner rather than later, she's just trying to fit me in. She's happy for me not to take her to surgery as stressing her will probably inflame this more.

She didn't give her cystaid the last time Des, just the antibiotic injection and fluids to help Lexy flush it out.

Poor Lexy, and poor Ruth I would be frightened to death if I were you!! Have you and Lexy been to the vet yet? Hope so and hope she will get the right treatment asap, and will be on the mend soon!!

I would have a urine sample tested this time round, just to make sure as this seems to be happening more regularly?

Poor Lexy, assuming Caroline is the vet, if she has not contacted you by nine I suggest you ring again, as you know the sooner Lexy starts to receive medication the better. Also good of you for taking the day off, so many people think they will wait until they get home before taking the little on to the vets.

Poor Lexy - what does your vet give for cystitis? I think Cystaid are really good, they help the lining of the bladder.

Thanks everyone. She's sat here purring at me. Saw a bird outside and started chattering.
But won't eat the food I put down for her even though she woke me asking for it.

And pee smells strong and still blood in it. I gave her one drop of metacam last night just to help with pain.

Just waiting for Caroline to call back.

I can see my baby is not quite there. I've taken the day off.

Just spoke to vet. Based on past week she's happy to wait tonight and see how she is tomorrow and then we will most likely have a visit tomorrow evening.

My poor baby. She's in front of the fire now resting.

Defo get to the vet in the morning - if she is still passing urine the blockage is not complete, but would not mess around with this. Lynn will doubtless give more accurate advice. Bob and I had more than one midnight run to the vet for blockages ... and yes, definitely no dry food, will probably have to go on a low-magnesium diet...

She's not looking worried, but Lexy naturally avoids me when she's in a mood which she is doing now. Just reading the health thread Tan posted a while ago.

Will call vet, going to get her biscuits off floor and put a couple extra water bowls out aroudn the flat.

yes, he used to do just wee dribbles (he had crystals in the bladder as a recurring prob), and would just squeeze out enough to ease the pressure, but it was often bloodstained... Is she going more frequently and looking worried?? that's what Bob used to do ... He would also come in and use the tray when I was on the loo, as a means of letting me know. He would squat there and stare at me reproachfully...

Ok she just went to the tray again, and squirted outside. Def blood, urine is nearly brown in colour. What do I do?? She appears ok but can I wait to speak to vet tomorrow or should I be calling vet now???

Even that small an amount Jo? it was probably about 3 or 4 large drops that kinda melded together on the mat? She would have had to be in the tray to pee that though but there are not drops or any tracks on the edge of the tray or inside it... I really don't want it to be blood (can you tell!).. my vet loves me..

I would go for blood in the urine myself. Bob used to pee outside the tray when he was having cystitis just to make sure i noticed and got his antibiotics...

Thanks Lucy. I just worried it was blood in urine but the urine in the tray has no trace of colour to it, and it was just THERE.. nothing more no dribbles on the lip of the tray, nothing...

Hiya, some of you know Lexy recently had probs going to the toilet, she's been good so far a couple days, nice solid poos.

I just got back from the kitchen and noticed outside on the mat (should have taken a pic!) a red liquid, possibly sticky, I used a tissue to mop it up.

It was clear, not a solid opaque colour, reddish, brown maybe. It was just outside the tray. I cleaned the tray, nothing of the kind inside the tray, wee fine, poos fine.

Lexy is a little quiet, a little off her wet food today but ate the biscuits without a hithc. Didn't want me to pick her up a minute ago but she's normally a bit like that anyway when I try to pick her up when she doesn't want to.

Please, anyone have ideas? I can't see any reasonable source for this liquid and cant see evidence of it anywhere in the house! Lynn, sound like something I should be worried about?
