Afraid that Duchas flu is worse and he is now sneezing and also I am going to have to restart the condensed milk cos he is not producing any nugets again.....sigh

He is sulking again but not really trying to get out of the cage now but I must be careful cos I dont need him to take me by surprise.

I am hoping his flu will stop getting worse cos dont want to have to drive him to the vets for a convenia jab as he will jump around in the carrier in the car and could hurt his leg again but cant wait until weekend and will have to judge by tomorrow night.

I cant tell how his leg is but he shuffles around in the cage.

just to say when we had goose in a cage 'cos of his ear, he soon became quite happy to stay in there.... it's amazing how quickly they adapt. in fact when we opened it he often choose to stay in there.

Sorry to hear that Gill.    Sending vibes for the snuffles to clear up without a vet visit and the condensed milk to get his innards (but not his leg) moving again.  I suppose the constipation is down to his inactivity, so difficult to get these things just right.  At least he's not fighting to get out now which is
 hopeful.
I hope you all have a good night - try gagging Franta so that you get some much needed sleep.  :naughty:

Thank you all and Carol you are so right the others need cuddles too  ;D

Not a lot of sleep again and got 6 interrupted hours, but its Franta that howls and meows and think he is trying to look after his brother cos was woken by non-stop meows and howls and he just would not be quiet till I got up and he saw that I was changing Duchas puppy pad which was wet!

As soon as he saw me doing that he stole my pillow and snoozed off!

Ducha very hungry this morning despite having food at 0815 and wants out of the cage again every time I open the door. I only let him get out when I am changing bedding and/or puppy pads cos its impossible to do otherwise but he is only allowed to just be outsisde the door.

He told me last night that he wanted to go further by pushing and pushing with his head but the answer had to be no  :(

Topping up the hugs Gill.  Very encouraging news from the vet.        It's a shame you don't have one of those little portable dvd players - my grandaughter has one which used to drive me nuts, but perhaps it would've been useful for Ducha.

Have just spoken to the vets and he thinks things are going very well!

He is going to send some bisolven for Duchas flu and he agrees its the stress of being in the cage thats brought it back.

He says if I can manipulate Duchas back leg and keep it moving that will help to stop so much muscle wastage and that if the bone in front leg has popped out again it will most likely pop in or find a place that it is most happy in for Ducha. Obvioulsy we cant have him xraywed every othe minute so he thinks that this is the best way for him.

I asked about stimulation so that Ducha is not so bored but sadly my house is too cold to put him in the places that would give him something to watch.....the windows are like airtex! Its importanyt to keep him warm to stop him stiffening up and so his flu doesnt get any worse.

Right off to feed him now and disturb Sasa who is on my bed, Franta is sleeping down here cos of that........sigh

No he hasnt  >:(

With the condensed milk you use one teaspoon full and water down with boiling water so its runny like a drink, my bowls are so cold the water goes very cool almost instantly!

Not too much water but just until the stickiness has gone and its like milk.

I give it once a day for Ducha to lap but usually takes two days before he will, I let him choose.

Once things are working again I stop it but by thenhe wants it LOL............usually takes two to 3 days to work.

Thats good to know Gill as Ollie hates the lactulose with a passion, he takes it well but sulks afterwards for so long

Aww Franta just needs his Meowmy, he reminds me of Ollie as he howls and usually for no reason and just needs some attention

It must be hard for Ducha trying to do toilet

Has the vet rang yet

The watered down condensed milk is the old fashioned way of doing the equivalent of lactolose and its working now cos  just had to go and change all Duchas bedding cos he is producing but also managed to miss the end of the puppy pad a bit and liquid right through to tray.

Have now ....................what was I gonna type lol, just had to go back upstairs for 4th time cos of Frantas howling, this time was no reason I could tell.......sigh

I think Duchas problem is how to go, I mean physically cos he cant sit with front paws on side of litter tray as he used to so raising his tail end and am out of ideas as I think he is.

I wish I could sleep Zoe cos I get shatttered very quickly when I only have a few hours sleep.

Hope Ducha get better soon from the Flu, least there is sign of the toilet probs getting bit better. When Ollie had toilet probs the vet gave me a little lactulose to help but then realised you can get it loads of places

You need to try get more sleep Gill, we dont want you getting ill also

Hope the vet calls soon and answers the questions you have

I think Ducha slept OK but not me, very little sleep. One large black and white sleeping like a log down one side and Franta messing around on the other..................I am shattered.

Ducha has produced one little nugget and hope this is the start of normal service.

Overnight he drank the rest of his watered down condensed milk and he has now drank two lots ands a bit, so have left him some more and hope that will finish off the trick.

Has had his metacam today and eaten a bit, guess with his lack of mobility he doesnt need to eat as much?

Puppy pads are working well and now waiting for the vet to ring to answer loads of questions.

Sadly his cat flu has returned and hope its not going to get any worse, guess its the stress of being in the cage, he is not sneezing but blowing through his nose and snuffling so am putting the bisolven in his food again to try and break up the catargh before it goes solid.

Poor little man really needs some sort of stimulation but without causing him to move!!

Thank you for asking.

Ducha has used his Puppy pads now although no solids yet and when I woke up he had used the second one and was sitting waiting for it to be changed, so hope it had not been wet for too long. Think he is getting the idea.

He is moving better and eating and drinking, still sulking in a spectacular way as birmans do and not purring.

When I wasa trying to change the puppy pad last night he walked out of the cage but lay down by my legs, he was trying to push me away so he could roam but I wasnt having that and he was not happy.

I am keeping him upstairs now cos last night was so cold and its not warm enough down here for him.

He was yawning when I left him so hope he will go back to sleep.

Things are going better than a couple of days ago.....................grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr just remembered he hasnt had his metacam, will be in next food!

He is having watered down warm condensed milk to try and help his tail end to work properly but has only drunk one lot so far.......sigh

I think I am feeling a bit less stressed but am so worried about him.
