Would used postage stamps be any good to raise money on here?
-
Although I am a semi retired stamp dealer, I wouldnt buy them but know some charities do take them but they are heavy to send through the post and unless they have been trimmed correctly, not mush use to dealers sadly.
-
Mmmmm think i was talkin about the stamps that 1 gets on ordinary mail :-:
-
Yes I was too Rattie cos when the charities take the stamps , its to us the dealers they come too.
People collect the stamps you get on ordinary mail ;D
-
soory ...xcuse me just had a senior moment there :-: Soooo there no goini be ' mush use ' then :innocent: lol
-
We all used to collect the stamps at my old company as someone used to take them somewhere. When I left, I carried on collecting, but coulnd't find anyone to take then, not even the local charity shops, which was a shame :(
-
CatChat still collect used stamps. I collect all mine at work and send them to;
Catchat - 1370035,

OOh, fab Sam, thanks! I'll start collecting again now I know there's somewhere who collects them ;D
-
ooh I'm glad I found this thread, when my dad died I found loads of stamps in his possessions most of them are from the 40's and 50's so might be worth something to someone

I got a Parcel a few years back, and the postage was £7:85p
but for some reason they werent stamped, (no ink on them) ???
would they be any use sending them to catchat, as they have been kicking about
my house from drawer to drawer for the last 3 years

We have started to collect used stamps too recently. We'd certainly be grateful for any heading our way :)
-
Really glad I've seen this as I used to save them at work for Guide Dogs for the blind. I will be sending them all to Catchat from now on.

Mary I used to collect for the guide dogs as well but apparently they no longer want used stamps.

Stuart if the stamps are unfranked you can use them again ... or send them CatChat and I'm sure they make use of them.

Stuart, get them used (or send them to me, and I will happily make use of them when it comes to sending out newsletters!!), all you need to do is make sure none of hte old envelope is showing and some pritt stick!!
