Title: Missing Black & White cat in Whitstable, Kent - FOUND!
Post by: Mark on August 22, 2008, 23:53:23 PM
My neighbours 3 doors away adopted a cat last week from friends in London. Their aunt died and they were trying to keep the cat in their flat but he was really unhappy. Jon & Daph bought the cat to Whitstable and kept the cat flap locked. He is a very nervous cat and had been hiding behind furniture all week. The don't know how the flap came unlocked.

Edit - pic added. He is called Saabi (born in a Saab)

The lady's sister is very upset.

Yes they are doing all the usual stuff. Also Daphs brother is down this weekend and I was introduced as someone who is also "cat mad"  :-[ - he was wearing a fleece covered in cat hair  :evillaugh: - he also teaches about animals at Durham uni so a real animal person  :)

Apparently Saabi is 20lb + with a big hanging belly. Hopefully he will be sniffing around for food and we can nab him!

There was a sighting yesterday. He was in the derelict house next door but ran when they tried to get him. The worrying thing is he weighs over 20lb so no food is dangerous for him. I told them to make sure there is food available - a as he needs to eat and b to keep him in the area. They asked to borrow the trap I offered 3 days ago. I told them I don't actually have it but can get one. They have declined again and want to try themselves. One of the probs is there are 2 tortie sister that hang around always after food (I'm sure their owner doesn't feed them well enough as they are always begging me for food)

The lady of the woman that died lives locally. She went into the derelict house last night and coaxed the cat out. He is at her house now. My neighbours think he would be better off with her but she won't take him due to having her own cats. Our neighbours are reluctantly taking him back to see how it goes. I told them that if it doesn't work out, we can try direct rehoming. They think he will be trying to escape at every opportunity so will see how it goes.
