No furballs in a couple months...should I worry?

<< < (3/3)

Kittybabe (Ruth):
Thanks all. My cats growing up rarely brought them up but then again we lived in South Africa and they pretty much didn't get any winter fur, it was a steady temp most of the time.  I may buy the paste just in case, since sometimes she missed a day that she doesn't poop (charming conversation this is), so I wonder if she gets a bit constipated.

Susanne (urbantigers):
Jaffa has never brought up a furball in his life (he's 9).  Some cats just don't have a problem - guess the hair they ingest just passes through them without a problem.  I wouldn't worry about it unless she's showing signs of having some hair stuck somewhere.

Kelly:
I have to say Kitty I dont think Archie has ever brought up a furball - we've had him for 7 months now. The only cat who did was my first foster. Archie seems perfectly healthy so I'm not worrying too much but may purchase the paste just in case!

Team Svartalfheims:
Tigger had the odd furball in the summer when she was moulting but neither of them have had any for months now either as they are busy growing coats rather than shedding coats. You can always give little Lexy some hairball paste if you want to (Katalax or the Sherleys one with probiotics are good) as that will help ease any hair through her system if you are worried.

Kittybabe (Ruth):
In the 8-9 months I have had Lexy, she's only brought up furballs twice and the last time was a good two months ago.  Since then though she hasn't.

The Royal Canin site encyclopedia says that a cat should have access to grass etc to help bring them up especially if they are indoor cats as they groom more.

I groom Lexy too, but she still grooms herself constantly.

Shoudl I worry that she hasn't brought up any furballs?  Anyone had experience of this and any problems or have ways that I can induce her bringing them up?

As usual, when I have a question it is of the lame sort!!
