A friend of mine is rehoming 2 kittens from CP and she is collecting them in 2wks when they will be just 6wks old.
IMO surely this is wrong ?

Are they handrears? Seems to make a difference....

Nope, Mum is with them !
Think I might have to make a phonecall as its really bothering Me
-
Are they taking mum as well then? :shy:
Think there must be more to this. CP doesn't allow kittens to go before 1st jab at 9 weeks. In fact we are being urged to keep them to 12 weeks now and rehome already neutered. If a branch really is letting them go at six weeks I think HQ would want to know. PM me if you know what branch it is. ;)

Just in case you missed my latest response Micelle as I think we 'crossed' our PMs, please send me an email address for you so I can pass you on to the correct channels. :naughty:

Are you certain your friend hasn't got the wrong end of the stick? If they were 6 weeks now then in two weeks time when she's collecting them they would be 8 weeks. I'll be shocked if a reputable rescue like CP would rehome at 6 weeks

Michelle has been doing a bit of digging in the background and as luck would have it, I do have a contact who is coordinator of a neighbouring branch. If it's true he's horrified at the thought and it is most definitely against CP rules. With his help, all information and contacts have been passed to the RDM (Regional Development Manager) and I'm sure they'll be a rooting out of the truth. ;) The kitten's birth date was 4th March and if things are done correctly they won't be rehomed until 6th May when they have recieved 1st vac. :innocent:

The kittens were born on 11th March not 4th !
Helen, they are 3wks old now....my friend saw them at the weekend and took photos of them.

If they were born 11th March and she's homing them in two weeks they'll be less than six weeks old then  Hopefully the regional manager blokey will put a stop to this - what sort of impression does that send out if CP were to rehome at that age
